Preparing HR for Tomorrow: CIPC Symposium Draws 130 Attendees to Explore the Future of HR in the Age of AI

AI is changing the way we work - and HR is at the center of this transformation.

On September 18, 2026, the UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations (UP SOLAIR), through the Center for Industry Productivity and Competitiveness (CIPC), brought together HR professionals, managers, practitioners, and interested participants for a FREE on-site symposium on the future of HR in the age of AI.

From emerging AI technologies and HR competencies to AI-driven organizational transformation and the legal and labor relations implications of AI, our three speakers shared valuable insights on how HR can prepare people and organizations for a changing world of work.

One key message stood out: AI may change how we work, but people remain at the center of every workplace.

Inirerekomenda sa mga g**o na magpatupad ng alternative modes of learning (synchronous/asynchronous). Tuloy naman ang pasok sa trabaho (onsite) sa lahat ng yunit ng UPD.

Following the announcement of the Quezon City Government on its official page, the UP Diliman (UPD) Office of the Chancellor announced that face-to-face classes at UPD today, 9 September 2026, are suspended due to inclement weather. The members of the faculty are enjoined to conduct alternative modes of learning (synchronous/asynchronous).

Work operations in all UPD units shall remain onsite.

CIPC - UP SOLAIR successfully conducted its 8th Learning Session Series on “Contracting and Subcontracting Under Philippine Labor Law” last September 4, 2026, onsite at UP SOLAIR.

With Asst. Prof. Alvin Liao Alburo, LL.M., as the resource speaker, participants engaged in a practical discussion on DOLE Department Order No. 174, s. 2017 and evolving labor law jurisprudence.

The session received an overall evaluation rating of 4.67/5.00, reflecting participants’ appreciation of the relevant topic, knowledgeable resource speaker, and practical learning experience.

Following the Quezon City Government's announcement, the UP Diliman Office of the Chancellor has suspended face-to-face classes today, September 8, 2026, due to inclement weather. Faculty should switch to synchronous or asynchronous online learning. UPD onsite work operations will proceed as normal.
