When Life Gives You Tangerines—you go to Jeju Island?!
Jeju Island, lovingly nicknamed as the “Hawaii of South Korea”, is home to many pop culture moments: from being the filming location for many beloved K-dramas—such as Welcome to Samdal-ri, Warm and Cozy, and When Life Gives You Tangerines—to being the hometown of many beloved Korean celebrities like SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan and Red Velvet’s Joy. But beyond the pop culture scene, Jeju Island is known for its breathtaking beaches, rolling mountains, and tangerine orchards—truly a southern island worthy of its praise.
The island is situated in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and covers a lava plateau with a shield volcano at an elevation above sea level. It is Korea’s largest island and one of its most popular holiday and honeymoon destinations.
Between its volcanic landscapes, dramatic coastlines, deep-rooted traditions, and warm local identity, Jeju Island offers something different from inland South Korea—creating a destination that is as powerful as it is peaceful. With such a reputation, it is no surprise that many consider the island as healing.
여러분, for this summer’s healing, what will your Jeju be? Or perhaps, will you visit the southern island itself with your very eyes?
Let’s share our answers below and heal well until the next Tuesdays I Learn! 💚
