In partnership with the Office of the Associate Dean of the University of the Philippines College of Law (UP Law), the Workers and Employees Program (WEP) of the University of the Philippines Law Center (UPLC) launched the first WEP Kapihan sa Commons on 10 March 2026 at the Learning Commons, Malcolm Hall, UP Law Complex, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

A total of 81 members of the UP Law Complex, mostly law students, were introduced to the concept of Just Transition (JT), its intersection with climate law and policy, and its impacts on the working conditions and rights of Filipino workers.

The Faculty Examination Committee for the Philippine Law Journal has released its Bulletin No. 01, announcing the schedule of the qualifying examinations and rules on admissions for the Student Editorial Board of Volume 100.

The Journal, which celebrated its centennial in 2014, is the flagship peer-reviewed, student-edited law review of the UP College of Law.

Sa paggunita ng Araw ng Paggawa sa Mayo 1, 2026, isang regular holiday, binibigyang diin ng UP Law Center-Workers and Employees Program (WEP) ang pagsunod ng mga employer sa mga patakaran sa Holiday Pay.

Ang mga manggagawa ay may karapatan sa 100% ng arawang sahod kahit holiday, basta sila ay pumasok o naka-approved leave with pay sa araw ng trabaho bago ang Mayo 1. Ang mga manggagawang pumasok sa Mayo 1 ay makatatanggap ng 200% ng kanilang arawang sahod.

Nakasaad sa sangguniang ibinahagi rito ang sample computation base sa umiiral na minimum wage rate sa NCR.

In observance of Labor Day on May 1, 2026, a regular holiday, UP Law Center-Workers and Employees Program (WEP) reminds employers to comply with the rules on Holiday Pay.

Employees are entitled to proper compensation during the holiday, even if they do not report to work, provided that they are present or on approved leave with pay on the workday immediately preceding May 1. Those who are required to work on May 1 are entitled to 200% of their regular daily wage.

A sample computation based on the prevailing minimum wage for NCR is provided in the reference below.
