The Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts (DSCTA) invites the public to DSCTA Conversations, featuring performance artist Tappei Noguchi.
The presentation will explore how performance can create unexpected encounters among people, places, and more-than-human worlds through two of Noguchiโs ongoing performance projects, Tire Pull and Octopus Mikoshi. He will also introduce a new performance project currently being developed in the Philippines.
Tappei Noguchi (b. 1992, Tokyo, Japan) is a performance artist whose practice explores movement, archipelagos, and collective forms of encounter. He graduated from Musashino Art University in 2015 and is currently a Japan Foundation Arts Fellow, developing an archipelagic performance practice through field research and artistic collaborations across the Philippines, Indonesia, and Timor-Leste.
