For partnerships, inquiries, or requests, please use this form: https://bit.ly/UPPPSORequestForm The Padayon UP Public Service Office serves to coordinate and mobilize the resources of the University in order to respond promptly and efficiently to the demands of public service and to develop relevant networking and support from the different “publics” of the University. Coordinate and monitor all

public service modalities and volunteer programs throughout the UP System, help document the various public service activities of the University, and in cooperation with the UP System Media and Public Relations Office (MPRO), disseminate these activities, programs and information to the UP community, other universities, policy makers, local governments, and the general public;

2. Assist CU’s in initiating, implementing and evaluating public service initiatives toward developing a relevant, strategic, sustainable and systematic public service program consistent with the mandate of RA 9500 and promotion of One UP;

3. Review the conduct of public service activities and programs and recommend to the President policies to ensure system-wide replication of successful programs, fund innovative activities, and create an award system for programs that increase institutional visibility for UP consistent with the promotion of One UP; and,

4. Transmit to appropriate agencies for timely legislative, executive, or private section action such policy studies emanating from UP CUs, research units, extension projects, including those generated from evaluation and impact assessments of public service projects.

Sulyap sa mga Nominado: Gawad Pangulo para sa Natatanging Serbisyo Publiko

Bilang pagkilala sa husay at dedikasyon ng ating mga komunidad sa unibersidad, ibinabahagi ng Padayon UP ang natatanging kwentong ito mula sa University of the Philippines Los Baños.

Kilalanin ang Project ACTS (Activity-Travel Behavior and COVID-19 Transmission Simulation) ng UPLB Department of Civil Engineering, isa sa mga opisyal na nominado para sa parangal ngayong taon.

Layunin ng inisyatibong ito na bumuo ng isang decision support system na makatutulong sa mga lokal na pamahalaan sa pagtukoy ng posibleng hotspots ng COVID-19 at iba pang pandemya, habang pinananatiling ligtas at tuloy-tuloy ang mga gawaing pang-ekonomiya.

Sa pamamagitan ng pag-aaral sa activity-travel behavior ng mga tao — kabilang ang kanilang galaw, uri ng biyahe, at mga aktibidad — nakatutulong ang proyekto sa pagbuo ng mas maagap at mas epektibong polisiya laban sa pagkalat ng sakit. Kabilang din dito ang paggamit ng simulation at modeling upang makapagbigay ng forecast at rekomendasyon para sa mas mahusay na pamamahala ng pandemya at transportasyon.

Pinag-uugnay ng Project ACTS ang larangan ng transportasyon, pampublikong kalusugan, at socio-economic planning upang makapaglatag ng mas matatag, ligtas, at handang kinabukasan para sa mga komunidad sa Pilipinas.

Bilang pagkilala sa husay at dedikasyon ng ating mga komunidad sa unibersidad, ibinabahagi ng Padayon UP ang natatanging kwentong ito mula sa University of the Philippines Visayas
Kilalanin ang Municipal Leadership and Governance Program (MLGP) ng UPV, isa sa mga opisyal na nominado para sa parangal ngayong taon.

Sa pamamagitan ng tripartite partnership ng UPV, Department of Health (Philippines) (DOH), at Zuellig Family Foundation, ang 18-buwan, three-module na leadership program na ito ay dinisenyo upang gawing epektibong Bridging Leaders ang mga alkalde, municipal health officers, at iba pang pangunahing opisyal ng mga Local Government Units (LGUs) sa Region 6 (Western Visayas).

Layunin nitong tugunan ang kritikal na kakulangan sa kapasidad ng ehekutibo sa mga LGUs, na naaayon sa Universal Health Care (UHC) Act at Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Sa pamamagitan ng pagsasanay sa interdisciplinary LGU teams, nakakatulong ang inisyatibong ito upang makagawa ng solusyon at makapagsulong ng reporma sa pamamahala para sa mas matibay at pantay na sistema ng kalusugan.
