"While there are women who seek wisdom in knowledge,
women who strive to be nothing but excellent,
and women who are empowered through sisterhood,
there is Tau Lambda Alpha Sorority." We are the UP Tau Lambda Alpha (TLA) Sorority, a duly recognized sorority composed of women in the field of Engineering and Architecture. We are The Lady Argonauts, based on Atalanta, a fierce huntress and an empowe
red woman in Greek Mythology who was the only female to sail with the Argonauts in the search for the Golden Fleece. Once an all-male profession, the field of engineering and architecture now exist to accommodate a large population of women. Of course, this is quite different from the current situation in the country. TLA commits itself to empower women of the College of Engineering and College of Architecture as well as to promote engineering and architecture as a profession. The purpose of Tau Lambda Alpha Sorority is to establish a loyal Sorority and to promote sisterly love and unselfish friendship among its members. The Sorority lives to uphold and advocate its core values - excellence, advancement, and wisdom - in women of Engineering and Architecture. TLA also aims to cultivate leadership and self-improvement in its members through academic excellence and active participation in the betterment of the College of Engineering, College of Architecture, the university and community, as well as to be living examples of sisterhood across different backgrounds and lifestyle.
