Ano nga ba ang tinatawag na kulani?

Ang pamamaga ng mga lymph nodes, o mas kilala sa tawag na kulani, ay nangyayari dahil sa nalagyan ito ng bacteria o virus. Kapag ang namamagang lymph node ay nagka-impeksiyon, ito ay tinatawag na lymphadenitis. Bihira na ang kulani ay dahil sa cancer.

Ang lymph nodes at lymph glands ay importante sa paglaban ng katawan sa impeksiyon.

Ito ay nagiging salaan ng mga virus at bacteria bago pa maka-impeksiyon sa ibang bahagi ng katawan. Kadalasanng makikita ang mga kulani sa bandang leeg, ilalim ng baba, sa kili-kili at bandang ari. Sa iba, ang pagdiin ng mainit-init na tuwalya ay sapat na upang mapagaling ang kulani. May mga panahon din na kusang nawawala ang kulani. Ang paggamot naman ng lymphadenitis ay depende sa sanhi nito.

Sintomas

Ang pagkakaroon ng kulani ay isang senyales na may prublema ang isang bahagi ng katawan. Sa pagmaga ng lymph nodes, mapapansin ang:

• Pagsakit sa lymph nodes

• Pagmaga ng lymph nodes sa maraming parte ng katawan na maaaring senyales ng impeksiyon tulad ng HIV o mononucleosis, o immune disorder tulad ng lupus o rheumatoid arthreitis.
• Matigas na kulani na maaaring tumor
• Lagnat
• Pagpapawis

Kailan magpapa-konsulta sa duktor

Ang kulani ay kusang gumagaling kapag ang nilalabanan na impeksiyon nito ay gumaling na. Magpa-konsulta sa duktor kung ang kulani ay:
• Namaga ng walang kadahilanan
• Tuloy-tuloy ang paglaki at tumagal na nang dalawa hanggang apat na linggo
• Matigas at hindi gumagalaw paghinahawakan
• May kasamang lagnat, pagpapawis at pamamayat
• May kasamang hirap sa paglunok o paghinga

Mga sanhi ng pagkakaroon ng kulani

Ang mga lymph nodes ay hiwa-hiwalay na grupo na may kanya-kanyang sinasala na parte ng katawan. Ang lokasyon ng kulani ay makakatulong upang ituro ang impeksiyon na nagiging dahilan nito. Ang pinakamadalas na sanhi ng kulani ay impeksiyon, lalo na viral infection, tulad ng sipon.

• Strep throat
• Tigdas

• Maaari, ngunit bihira, maging sanhi ang pag-inom ibang gamot tulad ng anti-seizure medication phenytoin at gamot panlaban sa malaria.

Mga posibleng komplikasyon

Kung ang impeksiyon na sanhi ng kulani ay hindi nagamot, maaaring mangyari ang mga komplikasyon na:
