As part of the National Book Week 2025 celebration, the FEU Diliman Library hosted the Junior High Edition Chess Tournament at the BED Library—an exciting showcase of strategy, focus, and friendly competition among our brilliant Baby Tamaraws.

Chess, much like reading, sharpens critical thinking, strengthens problem-solving skills, and nurtures patience and discipline. Holding this tournament in the library highlights how both books and games of the mind help build stronger, smarter, and more thoughtful learners.

🏆 Congratulations to our winners!

2nd Place: Cavin Manda (Grade 10 — Neoteric)
3rd Place: Mel George Gatchalian (Grade 9 — Adaptable)

As part of the National Book Week 2025 celebration with the theme “Tulay ang Pagbasa sa Bukas na Puno ng Pag-asa,” the FEU Diliman Library successfully concluded its Poster Making Contest held today at the BED Library. Our talented Baby Tamaraws from Grades 4–12 showcased their imagination, artistry, and love for reading through meaningful and vibrant posters inspired by this year’s theme.

Poster-making plays an important role in promoting reading and library appreciation—it encourages students to interpret ideas visually, deepen their understanding of the theme, and express how books can bridge minds, communities, and futures.

🏆 Winners will be announced on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Congratulations in advance to all our young artists for their creativity and effort!

✨ That’s a wrap for Day 1 of National Book Week 2025!

What an exciting start to our celebration!

Our library kicked off the festivities with a colorful Book Character Parade, bringing stories to life through creative costumes and lively energy. 🎭✨

We also hosted a heartwarming Storytelling Session with our friends from Scholastic, who captivated our students with engaging tales and inspiring narratives. 📖🌟

To cap off the day, we held an insightful Symposium on Plagiarism and Proper Citation, led by our distinguished speaker, Mr. Joseph Yap. His session reminded everyone of the importance of academic honesty and responsible scholarship. 📝🎓

And that’s just Day 1! See you tomorrow for the second day of NBW as we unleash who will rise in the Battle of the Readers and the Chess Masters of the Grade School Department! ♟️📚🔥
