The Capacity Building Program in Science and Mathematics Education (CBPSME) is proud to announce that the website for PRISM Ed (Philippine Research in Science and Mathematics Education), the official journal of CBPSME, is now live at https://www.prismedjournal.org

In line with this milestone, the Call for Submissions is OPEN for the first issue of PRISM Ed. All CBPSME scholars are invited to submit their original papers directly through the PRISM Ed online portal.

The School of Science and Engineering (SOSE) congratulates Dr. Fabian M. Dayrit, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Chemistry and Founding Dean of SOSE, on his recognition as an Excellence Awardee for Professional Association Development at the 48th Philippine Federation of Professional Associations (PFPA) Anniversary and 13th Excellence and Distinction (EXCeeD) Awards held on March 7, 2026.
The PFPA Excellence and Distinction Awards honor Filipino professionals who have reached the pinnacle of their fields through extraordinary achievement and selfless service. These accolades celebrate individuals who mirror the values of ingenuity and integrity, dedicating their expertise to the twin goals of professional advancement and nation-building.

Dr. Dayrit has long been a guiding light in the national scientific community. Through his pioneering research in natural products and instrumental leadership roles—most notably within the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines (ICP) and the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST PHL)—he has consistently championed the role of the professional in driving societal progress.

This award is not just a personal milestone but also a celebration of the collective efforts of professionals who strive to make the Philippines a center of scientific excellence.

In Loving Memory of Queena Lee Chua
April 13, 1966 to November 26, 2025

The School of Science & Engineering (SOSE) community mourns the passing of Queena Lee Chua, a beloved teacher, mentor, and friend. She shared her gifts with steady kindness, sharp insight, and a spirit that lifted everyone around her. Her dedication shaped generations of students, and her warmth created a home for many in our halls.

We honor her life, her work, and the quiet strength she carried into every room. She leaves a legacy that will continue to guide us.

Her wake will be held at the College Chapel, Gonzaga Hall, Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City
December 5 to 8, 2025
10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A Mass will be offered every 6:00 p.m. and livestreamed at fb.com/admumath.

We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering a life well-lived and a heart that gave generously.

May she rest in peace.
