The UP Diliman Department of Psychology warmly congratulates our Department Chair, Associate Professor Jay A. Yacat, on being named the inaugural recipient of the "Gawad Virgilio G. Enriquez para sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino" by the Psychological Association of the Philippines.

This important award recognizes Prof. Yacat's outstanding scholarship, exemplary commitment to the advancement of Sikolohiyang Pilipino, and significant contributions to psychology teaching, research, and practice grounded in Filipino contexts and experiences.

The award was presented during the 62nd Psychological Association of the Philippines Annual Convention at the SMX Convention Center Davao in Davao City on September 24, 2026.

The UP Diliman Department of Psychology (UPDDP) has partnered with the CSSP Folklore Studies Program to provide a graduate internship opportunity from September to December 2026.

Through this collaboration, the graduate student will have the opportunity to gain meaningful hands-on experience and apply the knowledge and skills developed in the classroom to real-world social issues and challenges. This partnership reflects the shared commitment of the UPDDP and the CSSP Folklore Studies Program to creating meaningful experiential learning opportunities that prepare future psychologists and social scientists for professional practice and community engagement.

The partnership agreement was formalized by UPDDP Chairperson Assoc. Prof. Jay A. Yacat, MA, RPsy, and CSSP Folklore Studies Program Coordinator Prof. Carlos P. Tatel, Jr., PhD.

"Neither Here Nor There" is a conversation on local liminal spaces through the perspectives of image-making, psychology, and storytelling. The panel will be composed of writers, artists, and scholars interested in why the liminal is such a distinctive experience.

The UP Diliman Department of Psychology (UPDDP) is pleased to announce its three-year partnership with the UP Diliman Ugnayang ng Pahinungod (UPD Pahinungod) to provide student internship opportunities beginning AY 2026โ€“2027.
