The Respiratory Therapy Department at Trinity University (TUA) invites incoming freshmen (decided and undecided) to our FREE Online Respiratory Therapy Bridging Class to learn more about Respiratory Therapy.

The Respiratory Therapy Bridging Class is a preparatory program designed to help incoming freshmen and first-year BS Respiratory Therapy students transition smoothly into college life and academic expectations. It serves as an introduction to the profession, foundational medical concepts, and the values of patient-centered respiratory care.

This May, the 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 joins the global community in observing National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. For many, managing a respiratory condition is a constant commitment that requires the right science and support.

As future RTs, we stay at the forefront of clinical excellence. This year, we highlight the critical shifts in the newly released 𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭:

• The Anti-Inflammatory Mandate: GINA 2026 now recommends that almost everyone with asthma, including most pre-school children, be prescribed an Inhaled Corticosteroid (ICS).

• The "2-in-1" Superiority: Combination inhalers (ICS + fast-acting reliever) are the preferred choice. This ensures that every dose of "relief" also addresses underlying airway inflammation.

• The "Green Patient" Priority: Clinical control is now linked to sustainability. A well-managed patient reduces the need for emergency interventions, significantly lowering the carbon footprint of respiratory care.

At SART, we bridge the gap between classroom theory and these life-saving global standards. We don't just study the breath; we advocate for the science that protects it.

The success of the 3rd PSRTE Annual Convention brought together dedicated students, educators, professionals, industry partners, and renowned leaders in respiratory therapy to exchange knowledge, explore innovations, and strengthen the commitment to advancing education and patient care.

The Respiratory Therapy Department congratulates the 9 (nine) Trinitian delegates who actively participated in the annual convention under the guidance of our Respiratory Faculty, Ms. Ma. Fatima Lourdes Desacula.

2 Trinitian delegates, Mr. Miles Quilala and Ms. Jemina Chelsy Escandor, were the proud recipients of the PSRTE Education Grant.

A heartfelt thanks to all the speakers, participants, and organizers who made this event a remarkable and inspiring experience.

𝐩𝐚𝐑𝐓𝐢 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 | 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

A generous donation of a bronchoscope with monitor and bronchial hygiene equipment has been turned over to TUA’s Respiratory Simulation Laboratory. This valuable addition will significantly enhance hands-on learning and provide students with more advanced, realistic training in bronchoscopy assistance and airway management.

The TUA Respiratory Therapy Department extends our sincere appreciation to the 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 (𝙥𝙖𝙍𝙏𝙞), represented by the President himself, Mr. Michael de Peralta.
