Dr. Remedios Adamos-Magkasi

Need we say more? Practically every student, alumnus/alumna, faculty, staff, and administrator of FEU-NRMF knows Dr. Magkasi - the most tenured, devoted, and respected professor in our history.

In remarkable and well-deserved fashion, she has been awarded Most Outstanding Faculty 10 times in her 7 decades of teaching.

Her professional and academic affiliations through the years include the FEU-NRMF Faculty Club, Association of Philippine Medical Colleges, Philippine Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Academic Society for Pathology, Philippine Medical Associationโ€“Valenzuela Chapter, and the UP-NMMC-HO Alumni Society, where she served in various capacities as a member, board director, and president.

Today, Dr. Magkasi remains on the FEU-NRMF faculty roster and continues to teach online at other medical institutions. But four slides could never capture the measure of a teacher or the gratitude of generations who learned from her.

The countdown to 7๏ธโƒฃ5๏ธโƒฃ years starts now โœจ

Introducing: Faces of FEU-NRMF - a series of 75 individuals whose contributions, dedication, and experiences reflect the heart of our institution. We shift the spotlight to faculty, alumni, luminaries, and staff who help narrate and represent the different phases of our history, starting with the FEU Institute of Medicine's inception in 1952 to those who will make their mark in 2027.

Behind every milestone, every achievement, and every chapter is an entire community that has brought our mission to life. Each face carries a story. Each story continues to shape the FEU-NRMF legacy.

We begin with the Mother of Philippine Pediatrics: Dr. Fe Del Mundo, whose accomplishments transcend what many of us aspire to achieve in a lifetime.

Her other notable awards and recognitions include:

โ€ข Elizabeth Blackwell Award (1966): Granted by Hobart and William Smith Colleges in the United States, this international honor is awarded to women who have shown outstanding humanitarian service to mankind.

โ€ข Most Outstanding Pediatrician and Humanitarian (1977): Conferred upon her globally by the International Pediatric Association during the 15th International Congress of Pediatrics.

โ€ข Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service (1977): Widely regarded as "Asia's Nobel Prize," she was given this award for her lifelong dedication and public health advocacy for needy Filipino children.

โ€ข Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Award (2008): Awarded by the AY Foundation to honor her decades of selfless charity work and medical service to impoverished communities.
