The CMC Library will be closed on September 24–25, 2026 (Thursday–Friday) for the College’s Strategic Planning Workshop.

Additionally, under Presidential Proclamation No. 60, s. 1992, the National Family Week, the library will close at 12 nn on September 28, 2026, to observe Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.

During this period, you may continue to access our subscribed databases, such as EBSCO Communication Source and Film & Television Literature Index with Full Text, for your research needs.

Regular library services will resume on September 29, 2026.

Pagbati po, Prof. Karol.

The UP Department of Journalism congratulates our Department Chair, Asst. Prof. Karol Anne Ilagan, for earning tenure at the University of the Philippines.

An award-winning investigative journalist, Asst. Prof. Ilagan first joined the Department as a senior lecturer in 2019. She became a full-time member of our faculty in 2023.

Before joining the academe, she served as editor-at-large of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism.

She is a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and was a Fellow of the Pulitzer Center’s Rainforest Investigations and AI Accountability networks.

She currently teaches courses in Investigative Journalism and AI Accountability Reporting.
