Ateneo Liturgical Ministries The official org page of the Ateneo Liturgical Ministries. All updates and photos are posted here. Amare et servire. Who said Mass serving's old school?

It surely isn't here in the Ateneo High School. Come and experience a different kind of acolyte service with one of the oldest organization in the AHS, the Ateneo Liturgical Ministries. But what is ALM? From your very first day here in the high school, you've seen us serve in the Freshmen's Mass. Even at the daily morning masses to the school wide ones, we sure were there. Of course as a liturgica

l ministry, we make sure that the Eucharistic celebration goes well and smoothly. But why join ALM? So your family and friends could praise how much of a good boy you are? So you could go up the stage during the school wide mass? Nope, no way. You should join because you want to serve. You should join because you want yourself to grow better as a student and as a person. ALM will certainly give you many opportunities to also meet new people through interactions and pilgrimages as far as Cebu and Naga. Lastly, you should join because we want you and we need you! Amare Et Servire. To Love and Serve.

Today is the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. Orate pro nobis!

It is on this day that newly created metropolitan archbishops receive the pallium, the primary symbol of their office, from the Pope.

"As early as the year 258, there is evidence of an already lengthy tradition of celebrating the solemnities of both Saint Peter and Saint Paul on the same day. Together, the two saints are the founders of the See of Rome, through their preaching, ministry and martyrdom there."

Today is the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. Ora pro nobis.

"A prophet from before his birth, leaping in the womb to announce the coming of the incarnate God, his task was to proclaim the fulfilment of all prophecies – and thus his own obsolescence. And he did it: with unequalled courage he spread the news that he, the greatest of all men, was the least in the kingdom of heaven."

Today is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.

In this solemnity we commemorate the announcement by the Angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and become the mother of Jesus, the Son of God, marking his Incarnation.

We commemorate this event on March 25; nine full months before Christmas, the ceremonial birthday of Jesus.

Fact: The Angelus prayer commemorates the Incarnation.
