DMMMSU-SLUC College of Agriculture Conducts Alumni Election

The DMMMSU-SLUC College of Agriculture held a meaningful alumni meeting today, August 21, 2026. The gathering featured the election of alumni officers, marking another important step toward collaboration and engagement among alumni and the college.

The activity was initiated by Ms. Nikah Q. Dulatre, College Facilitator for Alumni Linkages, whose efforts and dedication helped make the gathering a success, with the support and guidance of Dr. Janice D. Usi, Dean of the College.

Congratulations to the newly elected alumni officers! May your leadership bring continued growth, unity, and excellence to our alumni association.

August 20 and 22, 2026
• All scheduled classes across the University shall be conducted through 𝐀𝐒𝐘𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐄.
• Students are reminded that asynchronous learning days remain regular instructional days and that assigned learning activities and academic requirements must be accomplished.
The arrangement will also give students greater flexibility to:
✓ consolidate their learning;
✓ complete academic requirements; and
✓ prepare adequately for the 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟓-𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 (𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗡𝗟𝗨𝗖, 𝗦𝗥𝗗𝗜, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗗𝗜)
For August 20, 2026, in view of the scheduled power interruption in Bacnotan, La Union:
• Personnel, including Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers, whose functions can be performed remotely, may avail themselves of the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤-𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦-𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 (𝐖𝐅𝐇) 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, subject to existing University policies and the approval of their respective supervisors.
• Personnel assigned to essential services, including security, medical, janitorial, and dormitory management, shall continue to report onsite.
• Heads of Operating Units shall ensure the continuity of essential operations and the proper monitoring and accountability of personnel under the WFH arrangement.

These provisions are consistent with the Office of the President Memorandum No. 000762.

𝗠𝗟𝗨𝗖, 𝗘𝗟𝗨𝗖, 𝗢𝗨𝗦, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗟𝗨𝗖
For August 20, 2026:
• Faculty members not on VSL may avail themselves of the WFH arrangement.
• Faculty members on VSL shall report onsite.
• Nonteaching personnel shall likewise report onsite.

The arrangements seek to:
✓ minimize unnecessary travel and exposure to weather-related risks;
✓ address operational limitations brought about by the scheduled power interruption;
✓ sustain the continuity of teaching and learning; and
✓ provide students with adequate opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Midterm Examinations.

Notwithstanding the WFH arrangement across the University, Heads of Operating Units are authorized to require concerned personnel to report onsite, as necessary, to perform urgent and essential tasks and ensure the continuity of University operations.

All students and personnel are advised to remain vigilant, monitor weather conditions, and follow subsequent announcements through the University’s official communication channels.

Let's start reviewing early. We encourage everyone to use this ASYNCHRONOUS day wisely to go over your lessons and review. Focus on the topics you need to improve on, and come prepared to do your best for the Midterm Examination. You've got this!

Classes at all levels and work in all campuses and offices of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) remain suspended on August 6, 2026 (Thursday).

This is pursuant to Provincial Government of La Union Executive Order No. 43, in view of the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) Nos. 1 and 2 and Red Rainfall Warning issued by PAGASA due to Tropical Storm "Maymay" and Southwest Monsoon.

Everyone is advised to monitor official advisories from PAGASA, their respective LGUs, and the official DMMMSU pages for updates.

In view of the Orange Rainfall Warning issued by PAGASA for La Union and the continuing threat of heavy rainfall, face-to-face classes in all levels across DMMMSU campuses are suspended and shall shift to 𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

This arrangement is consistent with the provisions of the DMMMSU Learning Continuity Plan approved by the Board of Regents. This is also aligned with DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2024, or the Revised Guidelines on Class and Work Suspension in Schools During Disasters and Emergencies, and DepEd Order No. 014, s. 2026, or the Guidelines on Learning Continuity in Emergencies for the Basic Education Level.

Faculty members on VSL are required to report onsite. Full-time faculty members may avail themselves of a work-from-home arrangement, subject to existing University policies, approval procedures, and work accountability requirements.

The University prioritizes the safety and well-being of its students, faculty members, and personnel while ensuring the continuity of learning. Students are advised to remain in safe locations, accomplish assigned learning activities as conditions permit, and coordinate with their respective faculty members.

Everyone is encouraged to remain vigilant and monitor official advisories from PAGASA, the local government units, and DMMMSU FB Pages.
