A legacy was born on August 27, 2026 as the Department of Teacher Education (DTE), in proud collaboration with the Future Educators Organization (FEO), conducted the 1st Pinning Ceremony for Pre-Service Teachers. Held inside the Tagaytay Room at Technovation Building, this event officially marked the deployment of our 4th-year education students into their respective assigned schools, signifying their readiness to step into the noble profession of teaching.
The momentous program opened with a warm welcome remark from BTVTED University Program Coordinator Dr. William P. Luseco, an empowering message from Director for Instruction Dr. Ariel G. Santos, and inspiring words from the DTE Chairperson Prof. Bernadette M. Lim.
Highlighting their dedication to the craft, the student-teachers took their solemn pledge led by Sir Fides Ray Julian B. Pugay, followed by the main pinning ceremony. A powerful wave of emotion filled the venue during the community song as pre-service teachers held their lighted candles high, channeling the unforgettable spirit of Taylor Swiftโs "Long Live"โa promise to stand proud and remember this golden moment forever.
Equipping our future educators for the real world, it also featured invaluable field orientation sessions. Gender and Development Campus Coordinator Ms. Yvanna R. Nocon led an insightful discussion on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, emphasizing workplace safety and professional ethics. Then, Internship Advisers Ms. Gellie E. Espinola and Mr. Richard P. Landagan outlined the fundamental Roles and Responsibilities of Pre-Service Teachers during deployment. To wrap up the learning sessions, English Instructor Mr. Jim Boy C. Solis spearheaded an interactive discussion on the Student-Teaching Portfolio, highlighting the exact required formats and styles.
The second half of the event featured a comprehensive seminar designed to thoroughly prepare our pre-service teachers for the realities of the classroom. This learning session equipped our 4th-year education students with vital tools for effective teaching and school safety.
Two exceptional speakers shared their invaluable insights. Mr. Wilbert A. Letriro, an accomplished licensed professional teacher and founder of Wilbert's Tutorial Services, imparted practical tips on classroom management and strategies to address everyday classroom issues. Following his presentation, Patrolman Jeraldine Rollo Creus, addressed "Safety and Security Issues in Relation to Current Incidents and Emerging Concerns in Educational Institutions," equipping our future teachers with critical knowledge on maintaining campus safety and handling security concerns.
The meaningful event successfully concluded with closing remarks delivered by Student-Teaching Coordinator Ms. Myka Venisse Garcia, highlighting how this phase can be tough and fulfilling at the same time.
As our pre-service teachers step out into their assigned cooperating schools, they carry with them not only their pins and lighted candles, but also the essential knowledge, readiness, and passion needed to make a lasting impact in the field of education. ๐๐ซถ
