One Community, One Celebration: MSCJ Students Join KRIMKADAYAWAN 2026
IN PHOTOS: The Masters of Science in Criminal Justice with Specialization in Criminology (MSCJ) students of Capiz State University Dayao Satellite College actively participated in “KRIMKADAYAWAN 2026,” the three-day celebration of the 27th Criminology Week, organized by the Criminal Justice Education (CJE) Department.
Anchored on the spirit of camaraderie, professional development, and unity within the criminology community, the celebration brought together students, faculty members, and graduate students through a series of programs and activities designed to strengthen fellowship while recognizing the values and traditions of the criminology profession.
The three-day celebration was spearheaded by the SSC and FLP Sub-Chapters of the Criminology Department, under the leadership of CJE Department Dean Dr. Verna R. Belarmino and Program Chairperson Dr. Den Mark G. Orquia, whose guidance helped provide an avenue for the members of the CJE community to come together beyond the classroom.
The MSCJ students marked their participation from the very first day through their attendance at the Opening Salvo, joining the CJE community in formally launching the celebration. Their presence reflected their continued connection with the department and their commitment to being part of activities that foster a stronger and more inclusive criminology community.
On the second day, the graduate students took their participation beyond attendance as they faced the CJE Faculty in a Friendship Basketball Game. What was initially a friendly sporting encounter became an opportunity to build rapport between graduate students and faculty members. Through teamwork, enthusiasm, and a healthy spirit of competition, the MSCJ students emerged victorious over the CJE Faculty.
More than the outcome of the game, the activity provided a meaningful opportunity for the students and faculty to interact in a different setting, strengthening professional relationships and reminding everyone that learning and fellowship extend beyond the four walls of the classroom.
The MSCJ students also joined the Closing Program on the third day, completing their participation in the celebration and reflecting on the experiences shared throughout the three-day event.
For the MSCJ students, KRIMKADAYAWAN 2026 became more than a celebration. It became another opportunity to reconnect with the department, engage with fellow members of the criminology community, and create memories while pursuing graduate education and professional growth.
As practitioners and future leaders in the field of criminal justice and criminology, their involvement demonstrated that continuing education is not separate from community engagement. Rather, it provides another avenue through which professionals can remain connected, contribute, and grow together.
The three-day celebration may have concluded, but the camaraderie, friendships, and experiences gained from it remain part of the journey.
KRIMKADAYAWAN 2026 stands as another milestone for the MSCJ students—a reminder that every academic journey is made more meaningful when shared with a community that celebrates learning, service, friendship, and the continuing pursuit of excellence in criminology.
