The election gathered student leaders from various ESSU campuses, including ESSUโMain, ESSUโGuiuan, ESSUโSalcedo, ESSUโMaydolong, and ESSUโCan-avid, to select the new set of FSCOI officers who will represent the universityโs student body.
The activity opened with preliminary ceremonies and welcome remarks from Jake P. Rayla, treasurer of the SSC of ESSUโGuiuan, who underscored the role of student leaders in strengthening student governance across the university.
Hagai B. Caratay, chairperson of the Senate Electoral Commission (SEC), also delivered a message assuring participants that the electoral process would be conducted with fairness, transparency, and accountability.
Following the opening program, the SEC facilitated the filing of candidacies and the introduction of SSC officers from the participating campuses. Official candidates were then presented by SEC Vice Chairperson John Carlo A. Gabiana.
Candidates introduced themselves and presented their platforms during the campaign period, which included a question-and-answer segment with fellow student leaders.
Voting resumed after the lunch break, with the SEC overseeing the election process. Votes were tallied immediately afterward, culminating in the proclamation of the winning candidates led by Caratay.
The newly elected FSCOI officials will take their oath of office before Dr. Andres Pagatpatan at the ESSU Main Campus, with the schedule to be announced.
The FSCOI serves as the highest student governing and policy-making body of Eastern Samar State University and acts as the collective voice of ESSU students across its campuses.
