Maundy Thursday calls us to celebrate the gift of priesthood, the eucharist, and prayer. During this time Jesus showed us what service truly meant, He called us to serve and not to be served, for whoever is the greatest among us shall be the last, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted. We commemorate today the triumphant entry of Jesus in Jerusalem. The shouts of joy and hosanna that welcomes Him is a testament of the world that needs His salvation. As we end the month of February, let us take a look at the Grade Level masses we have held during the month. Grade Level mass are held weekly depending on the schedule of your grade level, this is to sustain the spiritual needs of every Louisian, thus amplifying their love for the Eucharist and their relationship to God, their Divine guide. Here at Saint Louis College, masses are a pivotal celebration that hones the spirituality of every student, it also provides an avenue for the learners to get closer to God, open up their needs, and ask for help, guidance, and strength.

π‘ͺπ’‰π’“π’Šπ’”π’•-π‘ͺ𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔

The Basic Education Schools of Saint Louis College started the Lenten Season solemnly together with the celebration of Ash Wednesday last February 18, 2025. The imposition of ashes was the highlight of the celebration, ashes symbolizes true repentance, conversion, and a deep longing for God. Lenten season calls us to do three things: Pray- for prayer builds deeper and stronger connection to God; Give- through charity we learn to emphasize with others and be a blessing to them; Fast- fasting makes us realize our dependence to God, the giver of all, it also helps us recognize hunger and so be one with the sufferings of Christ.

The Gospel of Matthew 17:1-9 recounts the Transfiguration, wherein Our Lord Jesus Christ is transfigured before Peter, James, and John. His countenance radiates as the sun, His garments whiten as light, and the Father’s voice resounds: β€œThis is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

This revelation of divine glory precedes the Passion, underscoring that true discipleship unites splendor with sacrifice. In this Lenten season, we students are called to ascend our own mount of trialβ€”through disciplined fasting, fervent prayer, and almsgiving amid academic demands. The rigors of study, examinations, and intellectual pursuits become offerings, mirroring Christ’s ascent to Calvary.

Let us heed the divine imperative: attend to Christ. In Him, our labors find eternal purpose.
