The CBA Commission on Elections hereby releases Resolution No. 03-2026, which serves as the official clarification of the intent, legal basis, and application of Resolution No. 02-2026 concerning candidates running unopposed.

The Resolution clarifies that an unopposed candidate shall be declared elected only upon obtaining at least 50% + 1 of all registered and eligible CBA voters. It further establishes that Resolution No. 02-2026 serves as a supplementary electoral measure for circumstances involving unopposed candidacies that are not expressly addressed by the existing Constitution and By-Laws and Implementing Rules and Regulations.

The CBA COMELEC further clarifies that Resolution No. 02-2026 does not amend, repeal, supersede, or invalidate any provision of the existing Constitution and By-Laws or the Implementing Rules and Regulations. It is intended solely to provide a uniform basis for the determination, canvassing, and proclamation of unopposed candidates.

The Commission reiterates its commitment to an electoral process guided by transparency, impartiality, credibility, and democratic representation.

A RESOLUTION PRESCRIBING THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF VOTES FOR UNOPPOSED CANDIDATES AND PROVIDING FOR THE FILLING OF POSITIONS REMAINING VACANT AFTER THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ACCOUNTANCY DEPARTMENTAL COUNCIL ELECTION

In the interest of promoting a fair, transparent, and democratic election, the CBA Commission on Elections hereby releases Resolution No. 2, prescribing the required number of votes for unopposed candidates and establishing guidelines for positions that may remain vacant after the election.

With the election mandate requiring an absolute majority (50% + 1) of the total votes cast, unopposed candidates must secure the required majority to be declared duly elected.

The resolution likewise provides a clear and equitable process for the filling of positions that remain vacant following the election.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬.

On 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐅𝐫. 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐬 𝐆𝐲𝐦𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 came alive as freshies gathered for the awaited 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐔𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, marking the beginning of their journey as the newest members of the Louisian community.

And when the 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐬 arrived, the gym knew it. With cheers echoing through the halls and the crowd bringing the energy to another level, the Phoenixes made their presence impossible to miss. For a moment, the gymnasium was theirs, not by claiming the space, but by filling it with the unmistakable spirit of CBA. 🐦‍🔥🔥

As they begin their journey in the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲, may they carry with them the spirit of courage, ambition, and unity that makes CBA a community worth belonging to.
