The project was developed by BSIT students Mervie V. Isip, John Angelo M. Pabustan, and Aaron Joaquin P. Basilio under the guidance of their adviser, Romenick Garcia. The system was officially received by key representatives from Center for the Holistic Advancement of Religious Instruction, Spirituality, and Mission (CHARISM) and partner units, marking a significant step in integrating digital solutions into the universityโs community engagement initiatives.
Representing the locale during the turnover were Romario P. Polintan, Director of CHARISM and Norbert S. Garcia, Social Worker and Head of the Humanitarian Action for Nurturing Development and Solidarity (HANDS). From the UA-CIT department, the proponents were joined by faculty representative Grace D. Tiqui.
The CHARISM system is a web-based platform designed to streamline the management of community extension services. It automates essential processes such as record-keeping, monitoring, and report generation, thereby improving operational efficiency. By centralizing data and workflows, the platform enhances transparency and accessibility for students, faculty members, and administrators involved in outreach programs.
According to the proponents, the system addresses common challenges in managing extension activities, including fragmented documentation and manual reporting. With CHARISM, users can easily track projects, monitor participation, and generate timely reports, ultimately supporting more data-driven decision-making.
The turnover signifies not only the culmination of the studentsโ academic journey but also their meaningful contribution to the universityโs mission of service and community development. Through initiatives like this, the University of the Assumption - College of Information Technology continues to empower students to develop innovative solutions that create real-world impact.
