In August 21, we remember the life, courage, and sacrifice of Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., a figure of democracy whose fight for freedom and democratic rule became part of one of the most defining chapters in Philippine history.

His life reminds us that democracy is not simply a right we inherit, it is a responsibility we must value, protect, and uphold. His words continue to resonate across generations:

What a way to bring the College of Education together! Last August 15, our future educators gathered for a meaningful and informative Departmental Orientation 2026, a celebration of learning and leadership.

The program was opened with energy by our emcees, Ms. Althea Pangilinan, Junior Vice President, and Mr. Miguel Bundoc, Vice President for Communications, setting the tone for an afternoon filled with excitement and engagement. The purpose of the event and the important matters to be discussed were then presented by Ms. Angela Nicole Ocampo, Vice President for Academics, setting the direction for the afternoon. This was followed by the inspiring opening remarks of Ms. Samantha Roxas, which kept the audience energized and ready for the activities ahead.

Keeping things transparent and accountable, Ms. Mica Lalo and Ms. Shaira Salvador, Vice President for Finance and Vice President for Audit, respectively, presented the department’s financial report, giving students a clearer look into the department’s expenses and budget.

Students were then introduced to the Young Educators’ Society (YES) through Ms. Eiziah Balagtas, YES Organization President, on All About YES, including its meaning, purpose, activities, and opportunities for education students to become more involved in the organization.

Following this, Ms. Stephanie Linsangan, YES Organization Adviser, discussed the department’s retention policies and proper decorum, emphasizing the responsibility that comes with being part of the College of Education.

Throughout the program, the College of Education Dean, Dr. Bernadette O. Gallardo, was present to support the gathering. She also led the Induction of the YES Organization Officers for Academic Year 2026–2027, officially welcoming the officers into another year of leadership and service.

The afternoon took an exciting turn with a surprise departmental pageant! Selected education students stepped into the spotlight to compete for the titles of Mr. and Ms. Blue Jaguars, with Mr. Mark James Geronimo and Ms. Alyanna Banzon emerging as this year’s winners. They will proudly represent the department in future pageantries.

And, of course, no College of Education gathering would be complete without games, questions, laughter, and prizes!

Truly, the Departmental Orientation proved that learning is better when we do it together.

Here’s to a new academic year filled with purpose, participation and leadership.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Pursuant to the announcement of the Local Government Unit of San Isidro, all face-to-face or onsite classes and office work are suspended today.

Classes shall shift to the prescribed Alternative Learning Modality (ALM) as directed by the respective teachers and academic units. Students are advised to monitor their Google Classroom, official school communication channels, and coordinate with their instructors for learning activities and announcements.
