It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Prof. Luis C. Arce, an esteemed member of City College of San Jose Del Monte (CCSJDM) faculty.

Prof. Arce has served as an NSTP Instructor, Supreme Student Council Adviser, and Office of Student Affairs Coordinator. More than the positions he held, he was a mentor, a guide, and even a parent who has left an indelible mark in the hearts of his peers and students.

He may have joined his Creator, but his legacy will forever remain in the lives he touched, the stories he shared, and the lessons he imparted.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the CCSJDM community during this time of mourning.

With greatest sympathy,
The City Collegian

The City College of San Jose del Monte (CCSJDM) gathered last May 23–24, 2026, at John El’s Beach Resort, San Felipe, Zambales, to celebrate another year of hard work, collaboration, and unity.

This scheduled team building of the CCSJDM community was led by College President Dr. Roger S. Ambida, together with the Academic and Administrative Councils, teaching, and non-teaching personnel. It has become one of the school’s annual traditions—coming together not only to relax but, more importantly, to strengthen trust and relationships, which are crucial for reinforcing a shared vision toward a motivated workplace culture. This, in turn, enhances the institution’s capacity to achieve stronger accomplishments and deliver quality education.

To make the event more engaging, members were divided into four groups—Team Latte, Team Espresso, Team Matcha, and Team Choco—to compete in traditional games including Kadang-kadang Bao, Batuhan Bola, Egg and Spoon Relay, and Hula Hoop Relay. Activities such as these not only support teamwork and collaboration but also serve as a reminder that fun and relaxation are essential parts of a healthy work culture.

Dr. Roger S. Ambida concluded the two-day, one-night engagement with an awarding ceremony. Team Latte, headed by Ms. Guinevere S. Feliciano, Director of the Students Records and Management Office, was awarded Champion; Team Choco, led by Dr. Ambida, placed 1st Runner-Up; Team Matcha, led by Mr. Lionel Richie Ago-o, Dean of the School of Business Administration and Accountancy, placed 2nd Runner-Up; and Team Espresso, led by Ms. Ma. Floresa L. Mendoza, Vice President for Administration, placed 3rd Runner-Up.

He also highlighted this year’s KaLEAPayan theme, “...Towards Reframing the LEAPS,” emphasizing that wherever City Collegian employees may go, they should continue to embody the core values learned throughout their years of service.
