Reflect today on the first son, and humbly see yourself in him. In what ways do you find it difficult to say โ€œYesโ€ to Godโ€™s will right away? It is not a sin to struggle with obedience. This struggle is part of our fallen human nature. Like the first son, we must allow grace to work within us, forming our conscience and compelling us to act in accordance with Godโ€™s will, especially in the areas where we resist. Today's Gospel: Matthew 20:1-16a (The Parable of the Vineyard)

The parable in today's Gospel shows that although the workers labored for different lengths of time, each received the same full wage, revealing that Godโ€™s justice is inseparable from His mercy. This "Divine Equity" does not measure souls by external accomplishments but considers each personโ€™s heart, sincerity, faithfulness, and response to His call. Thus, a faithful soul may receive great reward, while even one who turns to God at the final hour through genuine repentance can receive abundant grace. Divine Equity is not human equality but Godโ€™s perfect justice and mercy, which sees each soul individually and makes all things right.
