In celebration of Womenโs Month 2026, the North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) highlighted the theme โWe Gender Equality and Inclusive Societyโ during a program held on March 18, 2026, at the NEMSU San Miguel Campus. The event brought together faculty, staff, and students to honor the contributions of women in education and community service while promoting gender-responsive initiatives.
The program opened with welcoming remarks by Dr. Marvie V. Gonzaga, OIC Campus Director, followed by the introduction of the resource speaker by Ana Meludina P. Molina, MAEd, GAD Focal Person of NEMSU San Miguel.
Dr. Jane Cervantes Oropa, EdD, GAD Focal Person of NEMSU Lianga Campus, delivered a keynote talk titled โWomen Educators and Service Leaders: Strengthening Gender-Responsive Student and Administrative Support Systemsโ, emphasizing the importance of empowering women educators and fostering inclusive support systems for students and staff.
A message from Prof. Clemencia L. Sumagaysay, PhD, Professor VI, further highlighted the critical role of women leaders in shaping responsive and equitable academic and administrative environments.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Tetchie E. Rafael, MSF, Administrative Officer V, reaffirming NEMSUโs commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusivity across all its campuses.
The celebration provided a platform to recognize womenโs achievements, inspire leadership, and reinforce the universityโs ongoing efforts toward building a more inclusive and equitable academic community.
