Twelve students from the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of Laguna State Polytechnic UniversityโSan Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) earned international recognition after achieving Competent and Proficient ratings in the 13th Test of Practical Competency in IT (TOPCIT).
Held on December 10, 2025, TOPCIT is a standardized, industry-aligned assessment that measures an individualโs ability to apply IT and software knowledge, problem-solving skills, and professional competencies to real-world scenarios. It serves as an international benchmark of practical competency for IT students and entry-level professionals.
Originally developed in South Korea, TOPCIT was adopted in the Philippines by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in partnership with the Institute for Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP) of South Korea. The assessment aims to evaluate practical competence, enhance the quality of IT education, guide employers in recruitment, and help bridge the gap between industry and academia.
