l 𝟭𝟮 𝗖𝗖𝗦 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗧 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁

Twelve students from the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of Laguna State Polytechnic University–San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) earned international recognition after achieving Competent and Proficient ratings in the 13th Test of Practical Competency in IT (TOPCIT).

Held on December 10, 2025, TOPCIT is a standardized, industry-aligned assessment that measures an individual’s ability to apply IT and software knowledge, problem-solving skills, and professional competencies to real-world scenarios. It serves as an international benchmark of practical competency for IT students and entry-level professionals.

Originally developed in South Korea, TOPCIT was adopted in the Philippines by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in partnership with the Institute for Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP) of South Korea. The assessment aims to evaluate practical competence, enhance the quality of IT education, guide employers in recruitment, and help bridge the gap between industry and academia.

| 𝗖𝗕𝗔𝗔, 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗛, 𝗖𝗖𝗦 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄

College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), College of Computer Studies (CCS), and College of Nursing and Allied Health (CONAH) emerged as top-performing colleges with a three-way tie in the Strategic Plan Review and Annual Deliberation of 2025 Performance of the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), held at the CIHTM Function Hall, Jan. 26-27.

The two-day activity aimed to assess and validate the 2025 performance of the colleges and campuses, as well as cascade the 2026 targets of the university aligned with the LSPU Strategic Plan.

The evaluation covered four areas: excellence and relevance in education, advancing research and excellence and community engagement, shaping a sustainable future, and resource optimization and management. After the presentation of evaluation results, the colleges, units, and offices of the university calibrated their respective Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR).

🌟 CONGRATULATIONS! 🌟

Out of twelve (12) colleges, the College of Computer Studies (CCS) proudly achieved Rank 1, alongside the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) and the College of Nursing and Allied Health (CONAH), during the 2025 Performance Validation conducted as part of the Strategic Plan Review and Annual Deliberation of 2025 Office Performance.

The activity was held at the CIHTM Function Hall, LSPU Sta. Cruz, on January 26–27, where colleges were evaluated based on their accomplishments in Instruction, Research, and Extension for the year 2025.

This achievement underscores CCS’s dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and service, made possible through the collective efforts of its faculty and staff.

Once again, congratulations to CCS, together with CBAA and CONAH, for this commendable achievement.

A faculty-developed information network and localized water management system for the municipality of Rizal, Laguna, created by researchers from the College of Computer Studies (CCS) at Laguna State Polytechnic University–San Pablo City Campus, won an award at the 3rd International Multidisciplinary Research-Based Extension Conference, Nov. 22.

CCS faculty members Reymar V. Manaloto, Catherine A. Castillo, and Jennelyn E. Espinueva received the Sustainable Impact Award for their research and community-based extension project, “Program R2IZAL: Revolutionizing Rizal through Information Zone and Local Network Systems.”

To build industry-ready competencies of students, the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of the Laguna State Polytechnic University–San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) conducted a two-day Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training among 4th Year students taking Bachelor of Science in Information Technology major in Service Management Program (BSIT-SMP) held at the Research and Development Building, Nov. 13-14.
Designed to equip students with foundational process-improvement skills and data-driven decision-making abilities, the training introduced participants to the full DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework used widely in the service and BPO industries.
The initiative was led by BSIT Program Coordinator Mr. Joesua R. Manzanero, with the support of Associate Dean Ronnel A. dela Cruz, Campus Director A/Prof. Joel M. Bawica, and University President Dr. Mario R. Briones.
