𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | The University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) posted passing rates above the national average in both the elementary and secondary levels of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), according to results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The PRC reported that 18,376 out of 32,796 elementary teachers, or 56.03%, and 45,001 out of 61,561 secondary teachers, or 73.10%, successfully passed the examination nationwide.

ULS Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) program recorded a 100% passing rate among first‑time takers, while repeaters posted a 50% passing rate, resulting in an overall institutional passing rate of 66.67%, higher than the national average for elementary teachers.

Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) program posted an 81.82% passing rate among first‑time takers and a 63.64% passing rate for repeaters, yielding an overall institutional passing rate of 75.76%, also exceeding the national passing rate at the secondary level.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | Students from the Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BS Psych) program of the University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) won Best Picture in the Cine de Carig 2026, a film festival organized by the City Information, Culture and Arts and Tourism Office of Santiago City as part of the Balamban Festival celebration.

The awarding ceremony was held at the Balay ng Santiago on May 4, where the student‑produced documentary “Hanggang May Maiuuwi” received multiple recognitions.

The film was directed by Jabez Verano, with Andrea Forcadilla, Alliza Bautista, and Prince Errol Manuel serving as members of the production team. All four are students of BS Psych.

In addition to Best Picture, the group also received Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Screenplay, and Best Sound, and was also a nominee for Best Poster.

“We want to showcase the life of a tricycle driver and how they live in this time of crisis,” Verano said, explaining the inspiration behind the documentary.

“Hanggang May Maiuuwi” portrays the daily life of a Santiagueño tricycle driver and single father, highlighting the realities of livelihood and family responsibilities.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) of the College of Medicine and Allied Medical Programs (CMAMP) of the University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) conducted a community healthcare service program for residents of Barangay Abra, Santiago City on May 9, 2026.

The medical mission, conducted as part of the immersion component of the Community and Public Health course, provided a range of services, including health promotion talks, medical check‑ups, vital signs monitoring, distribution of free medicines and supplements, free X‑ray services, and relief packs. Parlor games were also organized for children in the community.

Barangay Abra, identified as a ULS High School outreach adopted community, was selected as the site of the activity in coordination with the La Salette Pananagutan Center (LSPC), the Santiago City Health Office, and the Barangay Government of Abra.

𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 | RESUMPTION OF WORK AND FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES FROM MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

The Office of the Vice President for Administration released a memorandum dated May 9, directing all employees and students of the University of La Salette, Inc. to resume on‑campus work and face‑to‑face classes from Monday to Saturday starting May 11, 2026.

This directive is in line with the resumption of regular campus operations to accommodate enrollment activities and address immediate office requirements in preparation for the Summer term and Graduation scheduled in June 2026.

The university community is advised to be guided accordingly. For reference, please read the copy of the memorandum below.

𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄

The Human Development Center (HDC) will resume operations from Monday to Saturday starting May 11, 2026.

In line with this, walk‑in applicants for enrollment may now be accommodated every Monday and Tuesday for entrance examinations. Applicants who have already secured appointments from Wednesday to Saturday are advised to follow their assigned examination schedules.

Please be guided accordingly.
