Congratulations to the ULS Debaters for securing 5th Place Overall and advancing to the Semifinals of the National Debate Tournament! 🎉

Your sharp arguments, confidence, and dedication have truly brought pride to the University of La Salette and the College of Arts and Sciences.

Congratulations, ULS Debaters! We’re proud of you! 👏💙

Lance Elijah Vergara, Matt David Dela Cruz, and Renz Andrey Ignacio of the Salettinian Debate Society of the University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) ranked 5th overall and reached the semifinals of the 18th Luzon Intervarsity, a national British Parliamentary debate tournament held on October 3–4 at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).

At least 50 debate teams from institutions across the country competed in four elimination rounds, with the top eight teams in the novice category advancing to the semifinals.

This is the first time ULS has qualified for the semifinals of the tournament. In the previous edition of the competition, the Salettinian debaters fell short of a semifinal berth.

“This major breakthrough is not just an achievement for us as debaters, but also a reflection of the continued support we have received from ULS,” Vergara said. “It shows that we are able to compete against big universities and stand in the spotlight as a team representing ULS.”

For the teachers who stayed patient with us, believed in us, and never stopped showing up—Happy Teachers’ Day. 🩵

We know that being a teacher is more than standing in front of a classroom. It means giving your time, your patience, and sometimes even a little more of yourself just to help your students understand, grow, and keep going.

There may be lessons we forget, deadlines we barely remember, and moments when we didn’t realize how much you were doing for us. But there are also words of encouragement we carry, advice we remember, and teachers we will always be grateful for.

Thank you for every “kaya mo ’yan,” every second chance, every reminder, and every little effort that made us feel that we could do better.

From the College of Arts and Sciences, we celebrate and appreciate every teacher who has been part of our journey—not just as educators, but as people who cared enough to make a difference.

You may not always see the impact of what you do, but please know that it matters. More than you know.

Happy Teachers’ Day to all the teachers who give so much of themselves for their students. Thank you for everything. 🩵
