𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐔 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬

Marking the Academic Year 2026-2027, the Northern Iloilo State University – Victorino Salcedo Sara Campus officially opened its gates today, August 3, welcoming approximately 2,700 returning and incoming students for the start of the new academic year.

The morning program started with a flag-raising ceremony, lively Community Dance, followed by a warm welcome address from the University President, Dr. Raffy B. Chavez.

In addition, as part of the Initial Values Formation, Promotion and Restoration Campaign, NISU-VSSC values talks about the sense of responsibility anchored in core value, excellence. It emphasizes that with every senses comes with responsibility and the ability to carry each tasks with common sense in achieving one goal.

Moreover, the University President delivered a message to all the Victorinian students that reminded them with their mission in admitting in this institution .

"The only purpose you have with your enrollment here in NISU is to become educated. Because we do believe that education is the ultimate weapon in fighting poverty" he said. Dr. Chavez, also encourages students to discover themselves and potential to become productive citizens of our country.

The beginning of the new academic year brings fresh potential. NISU remains steadfast in providing quality, inclusive education and fostering resilient, value-driven leaders ready for the global stage.

As the campus settles into its regular routine, NISU-VSSC looks forward to a productive school year filled with academic achievements, new learnings and vibrant student activities.

As we officially open another exciting academic year, we warmly welcome all NISUnians to IMBUKADA: NISU in SARA 2026!

To ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful celebration, all students are encouraged to observe the following campus guidelines:

• Returning Students – Please wear your respective departmental or prescribed uniforms.

• First-Year Students – Please wear a plain white shirt, pants or an appropriate-length skirt, and closed shoes.

Wear your University ID at all times while inside the campus. Students without a valid ID should follow the prescribed campus entry and identification procedures.

• For students under the Criminology Department (BS Criminology and BS Industrial Security Management):

Please wear your prescribed departmental uniform, if applicable.
Maintain the required haircut and grooming standards in accordance with the policies of the Criminology Department.

The following are not permitted:

Short shorts
Mini skirts
Slippers
