"At first, I had no idea where and what UA (formerly PSCA) was and looked like. Because of my strong determination and dreams not only for myself but for my family, I traveled by myself just to enroll and enter the world of Maritime Studies even though I was not fully aware of the outcome of being a Marine Engineer. As a student from a family of unstable income, it was not easy, but because of my dedication, I had to be resourceful in some ways to help my parents pay my tuition fees, allowance, and some other expenses. I also became a student assistant in our office department.

UA-CMS, my Alma Mater, taught me to be more resilient in facing all the battles to be encountered. At sea, you must bring with you a strong faith, strong determination, and dedication in every contract.

Thank you, UA-CMS—you are one of the passages of all my success today. Your strong foundation inspired me to pass my OIC-EW examination last January 2010 and Chief Engineer License last March 2015. "The choice of where to lay the foundation for your future is rarely accidental; for me, it was the defining turning point of my life. Entering the University of Antique (UA) College of Maritime Studies back in 2004, I sought more than just classroom instruction—I was looking for a home that would discipline my mind and unleash potential I barely knew I possessed. Serving as student governor during my time on campus allowed me to lead my fellow cadets and experience firsthand the supportive environment that UA fosters. By the time I completed my academics in 2007, UA had built the core capabilities that would carry me through every wave and tempest of my career.

The institution does not merely teach; it transforms. Guided by expert instructors, dedicated faculty, and staff, UA instills a culture of discipline, practical competence, and unyielding faith. That solid foundation propelled me to pass my OIC-EW board examinations in October 2011. After serving at sea as a 4th Engineer, my deep gratitude brought me right back to where it all started. Returning to the UA College of Maritime Studies as an instructor and alumni coordinator allowed me to help mentor the next generation of seafarers, giving back to the community that forged me. That continuous preparation paid off when I earned my Management Level qualification and Chief Engineer license on October 11, 2022. Today, as I sail as a 2nd Engineer with MAR MANILA INC., I carry the pride of Maradiona, Belison, Antique, and the unwavering standards of the University of Antique.

My journey to the top engine room ranks began within the halls of UA. It is more than just a school; it is the ultimate training ground for future maritime leaders ready to command the high seas."
