𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙑𝙄𝙄 (𝘾𝙃𝙀𝘿 𝙍𝙊 𝙑𝙄𝙄) conducted an onsite Monitoring and Evaluation Visit at 𝙎𝙞𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 (𝙎𝘾𝘾) on May 14, 2026, as part of its commitment to ensuring quality higher education and institutional excellence among higher education institutions in the region.

The activity was attended by Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Perla Sarceno, College Registrar, Dr. Daisy Fumocod, program heads, faculty members, administrative staff, and students, who warmly welcomed and assisted the visiting team throughout the event.

The program formally opened with a short ceremony facilitated by Ms. Martina Salazar, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Perla B. Sarceno. This was followed by the introduction of the college officials and personnel.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙃𝙀𝘿 𝙍𝙊 𝙑𝙄𝙄 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢, composed of Ma’am Ma. Antonette F. Reyes, Ma’am Xyraine Mae S. Maglasang, Sir Loui M. Limotan, Ma’am Sotera C. Cagang, Ma’am Bianca Jane D. Abrenica, Sir Jameson T. Lim, and Ma’am Elna B. Sabornido, emphasized the importance of “𝙌𝙐𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙏𝙔” as the core foundation of the monitoring and evaluation process.

During the visit, the team conducted inspections and document evaluations in various facilities and offices, including the Library, Clinic, Computer Laboratory, Science Laboratory, BSBA Office, Information Technology Office, BSED and BEED Offices, Registrar’s Office, SASO Office, and the Office of the Administrator. The inspection aimed to assess the institution’s continued compliance with CHED standards, operational efficiency, and commitment to providing accessible and quality education.

The successful conduct of the visitation reflected the collective efforts of the Sibonga Community College community in promoting academic excellence, continuous improvement, and quality assurance. The activity also strengthened the partnership between CHED RO VII and the institution in achieving their shared vision for quality higher education.Together, the SCC community continues to uphold the spirit of “𝘼𝘾𝙃𝙄𝙀𝙑𝙀.”

May 13, 2026 | Sibonga Multipurpose Hall | BSIT graduating students of Sibonga Community College gathered today for a career talk themed “Adapting to AI: Emerging Roles and Opportunities in the IT Field.”

The activity aimed to equip future IT professionals with knowledge and insights on the rapidly growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the opportunities it creates across different industries.

The event featured Dr. Glenn Tabucamon as the guest speaker, who shared insightful discussions on how AI is transforming fields such as education, business, research, and software development by improving efficiency, productivity, and innovation. He emphasized that AI continues to support human work through automation, data analysis, and intelligent systems.

He also presented real-world applications of AI, showing how artificial intelligence is currently used in learning platforms, customer service systems, and programming assistance tools. In addition, he discussed key career paths in the IT and AI industry and explained the two major types of Artificial Intelligence—Narrow AI and Generative AI. He emphasized that AI is designed to assist humans rather than replace them, highlighting this message during his talk:

“AI will not replace you. A person using AI will.”

The Sibonga Multipurpose Hall came alive with a vibrant and engaging atmosphere as students actively listened and participated, showing curiosity and enthusiasm while gaining valuable insights about the future of technology and their role in the evolving IT landscape.

In his parting message, Dr. Tabucamon said:

“As you leave this session today, remember that the future of technology is not something to fear—it is something you can shape. Artificial Intelligence may continue to evolve, but human creativity, critical thinking, values, and innovation will always remain important.

Graduating students of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) Major in Marketing gathered at the Sibonga Multipurpose Hall on May 12, 2026, for a meaningful career talk titled “𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧".

The program formally opened with an encouraging message from the SCC SASO Director, Mr Ragecil L. Rentoma, who motivated the graduating BSBA students as they prepare for their future careers. He also introduced the guest speaker, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐄. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐨-𝐨𝐧.

During the seminar, Dr. Dato-on shared valuable insights about global career opportunities, professional growth, and the importance of developing skills that can compete in the international business industry.

The atmosphere inside the venue was lively and engaging as students filled the hall with laughter and enjoyment throughout the discussion. Dr. Dato-on’s interactive way of speaking kept the audience entertained while learning important lessons about business and career development.

Dr. Dato-on also shared the formula for success in business through the concept of 𝐊𝐒𝐀, which stands for 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞. He emphasized that these three qualities are essential for students to become globally competitive and successful professionals in the future.

As part of his discussion, Dr. Dato-on presented a “𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬,” where he encouraged students to build experience through internships, improve their skills through certifications, and strengthen their LinkedIn profiles to access more career opportunities. He also highlighted the importance of networking with professionals, learning business technology tools such as project management, Excel, CRM, and digital marketing, staying updated with industry trends, and building confidence in communication.

Students actively participated in the discussion and gained inspiration and knowledge that could help them prepare for opportunities beyond borders.

The career talk aimed to equip graduating BSBA students with motivation and readiness as they move closer to entering the professional world.

SIBONGA, CEBU | On May 7, 2026, the Sibonga Multipurpose Hall came alive with music, laughter, inspiration, and heartfelt emotions as graduating BSED and BEED students gathered for the EDUC 4th Year Seminar at 8:30 AM.

Led by SASO Director 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗟. 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗮, the program opened with energetic singing sessions and exciting cash prizes that brought joy and enthusiasm to the graduating class.

The highlight of the seminar was the inspiring talk of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗙. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀, Senior Education Specialist, titled “The Journey of Becoming a Public School Teacher: Insights on Applying to DepEd.” Her message centered on one powerful belief:

“There is nothing impossible if you have the intention.”

Dr. Pernites shared her meaningful 5 steps toward achieving one’s dreams:
1.Have a good mindset with a clear vision
2.Feel it as if it’s already happening
3.Intentionally act on it
3.5 do it again and again
4.Receive it with gratitude and thank the Lord
5.Give back and continue striving for growth. Do not be contented to be more.

One of the most emotional moments came when students were asked to envision themselves five years from now. The activity moved many to tears as they reflected on their future, dreams, and calling as educators.

Beyond motivation, the seminar also provided practical knowledge about the DepEd Application Process, Qualification Standards, Documentary Requirements, Ranking Criteria, Interview tips, and the values expected from future public school teachers. Through humor, wisdom, and real-life experiences, Dr. Pernites inspired students to pursue their goals with confidence, preparation, and faith.

The seminar served as a reminder that becoming a teacher is not only about completing requirements, but also about carrying a purpose to inspire, serve, and make a difference.

As they move forward in their journey, the graduating students are reminded to carry the 3As: "𝘼𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝘼𝙢𝙥𝙤, 𝙪𝙜 𝘼𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚" to stay safe, keep praying, and continue moving forward toward their dreams.

Graduating students from Sibonga Community College participated in a mangrove planting activity on Thursday, May 8, 2026, at the coastal area behind the New Sibonga Municipal Hall.

Students from the 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯(BSED), 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (BEED), 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘈𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (BSBA), and 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 (BSIT) programs joined the activity at 6 a.m.

The event carried the theme, “𝐒𝐂𝐂 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲.” The participants believe that mangrove trees help protect the town from flooding and serve as breeding grounds for fish and other marine life.

The future of student leadership at Sibonga Community College (SCC) has officially been decided. Following two days of election process held on May 6–7, 2026, at the SCC Covered Court, the new set of Student Government officers has been elected to serve the student body for the upcoming year.

The election results declared a decisive victory for the 𝗟.𝗔.𝗚.𝗔.𝗗. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁, which secured the majority of the seats. Running under the inspiring slogan, "𝗟.𝗔.𝗚.𝗔.𝗗 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗺𝗼 𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗗 - 𝗕𝗬 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗢𝗙 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀," the party anchored its campaign on core values: 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦, 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘎𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘴, 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦.

Leading the new administration is 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙅𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙀. 𝙇𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙙, who ran unopposed for the position of President. Standing beside her as Vice President is 𝙈𝙖. 𝙈𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝘼𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙖 𝙊. 𝙋𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙤. They will be joined in the Senate by elected officials 𝙅𝙖𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙣 𝙇. 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙧, 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙯 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙯, 𝘽𝙚𝙖 𝙀. 𝙂𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣, 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝙑𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖, 𝘼𝙟𝙚𝙮 𝙈. 𝘼𝙡𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙤, 𝘼𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙖 𝙀. The official proclamation of winners took place on May 7, 2026, at exactly 4:23 PM at the SCC Student Lounge. The event was witnessed by key school officials, including SG Adviser / Multi-faith Coordinator 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗲 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗧. 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼 and SASO Director 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗟. 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗮. The 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 (𝗕𝗘𝗜), chaired by 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗮, formally declared the results, officially sealing the victory of the new student administration.

As the L.A.G.A.D. administration steps into office, the entire SCC community looks forward to a term filled with purpose, integrity, and genuine service to the students.

SCC Men’s Basketball Team asserts dominance with a strong 2–0 start

GUIMBANGCOAN, SIBONGA, CEBU — The SCC Men’s Basketball Team came out with fierce determination and high energy opening their campaign in the SK-Guimbangcoan Open League Basketball Tournament with two impressive victories last May 4 and May 6, 2026. From the opening tip, SCC displayed sharp ex*****on, relentless pace, and confident shot-making, immediately setting themselves apart as a serious contender.

In their debut last Monday, SCC delivered a dominant performance against Ocean securing a convincing 101–82 win. The team controlled the rhythm of the game with disciplined defense and fluid offense never allowing their opponents to gain momentum. Keane Hermia led the charge with an outstanding all-around performance earning the Best Player of the Game and providing the spark that fueled SCC’s explosive start.

SCC carried that intensity into their second game last May 6 against JTC Mangyan where they showcased resilience and composure in a more competitive matchup. The team pulled through with a hard-earned 118–108 victory maintaining control in crucial moments. Ron Bryl Delfino stepped up with a clutch performance earning the Best Player of the Game and playing a key role in sealing the win.

Behind this strong opening run is the steady and focused leadership of the head coach Sir Ragecil L. Rentuma together with the ALCU7 coaching staff composed of Ms. Nivea C. Isabelo, Ms. Jane T. Blanco, and Sir Robee Ryan T. Isabelo. Their guidance has shaped a disciplined, cohesive, and confident squad that continues to build momentum as the tournament progresses.
