​Special Muslim Grantees: 130–134
​Qualified for AB/BS Programs (Baccalaureate Programs): 80 and above

NEWS | MSU-MCSE CHESS boards for Subida Summit—ascends ChEmmunity in united connection

Cagayan De Oro — March 24-27, 2026 — The Chemical Engineering Students’ Society (ChESS) of MSU-MCSE made its appearance at the 10th Mindanao Chemical Engineering Students’ Summit to join its flagship annual program of PIChE-Junior Chapter Mindanao, inaugurating along with five prestigious affiliated Mindanao Schools—JPIChE-AdDU, MMCM JPIChE, ChESS MSU-MAIN, UM ChESA, and JPICHE-XU.

The event is recognized as SUBIDA 2026, with four days of learning, collaboration, and growth across Mindanao, with the theme “ALIMA: Nurturing Young Minds, Engineering a Shared Future.”

Along the journey with the academic, industrial, sports, artistic, and social activities, the MSU-MCSE ChESS made its rallying zaps to conclude SUBIDA as Champion for Soduko and Tiktok Entry; 1st Runner-Up for Mixed Volleyball, Badminton (Mixed Doubles), Speed Cubing, and Tug of War; and 2nd Runner-Up for Frisbee (Mixed), Diorama, and Basketball (Women’s). Moreover, Mx. Reychel Macan secures Mx. Subida’s 2nd Runner-Up finish.

Lastly, with the ChErivia Nights (Cluster Events) competition, they acquire Champion as Team Hiraya, including Gino Andrie Handugan, Reymart Albos, and Francis Levi Caindog II; and Team Kasadya as 1st runner-up, including Jeffrey Brobo, Stela Tenebro, and Jean Michelle Patatag, all making representation to MSU-MCSE ChESS.

The second day of the summit featured a comprehensive lineup of career talks in the morning, providing participants with valuable knowledge and industry perspectives across key areas of chemical engineering. Esteemed speakers delivered insightful presentations:

• Engr. Jopeth M. Ramis, Ph.D., CLSSP, MBA — Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine

•Engr. Fernan S. Roa — Fermentation Engineering and Brewing Process Operations

•Engr. Christylene S. Balagtas — Consultancy in Wastewater Engineering and Design

•Engr. Ercille Mae O. Pacamo — Water Quality Management

In the afternoon, participants engaged in educational plant tours, gaining firsthand exposure to real-world industrial operations and best practices in manufacturing and process engineering. Visits were conducted at

Day 1 of the Summit Concludes with Notable Success

The opening day of the summit concluded with notable success, marked by active participation, academic engagement, and a strong sense of institutional pride. Under the guidance of Engr. Benitez, Engr. Bautista, and Engr. Malagum, the delegation carried out its role with professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the day’s proceedings.

One of the highlights was the Quiz Bowl segment, where participants exhibited exceptional analytical skills, presence of mind, and teamwork. Their performance reflects the department’s continued pursuit of academic excellence and competitive readiness in the field of chemical engineering.

The day provided a valuable platform for interaction and collaboration, as students had the opportunity to connect with their counterparts from the Main Campus. This engagement, together with Engr. Burngawan, fostered a deeper sense of unity and shared purpose within the academic community.
