TO ALL LSPU COMMUNITY

RE: INFORMATION DISSEMINATION AND PROMOTION FOR THE PHILIPPINE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM REGISTRATION

Recognizing the integral role of the youth in nation-building, the CHED and HEI offices, schools, and personnel are enjoined to participate in the nationwide promotion and registration in the Nation ID Program or the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). The campaign entitled: "PhilSys: Ang Digital ID para sa Makabagong Pilipinas", envisions a sustainable, digital and inclusive society where no Filipino is left behind.

RA No. 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System Act, mandates the establishment of a central national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens in the Philippines. The PhilSys aims to provide free, valid, and centralized identification with the objective of accelerating financial inclusion, increased access to social and economic opportunities and the transition to digital transactions that are secure, affordable and efficient.

For 2021, the goal of the PhilSys program is to register 50 to 70 million individuals.
1. The Step 1 - Registration, which includes the collection of demographic information and appointment setting.
2. Consequesntly, Step 2 - Registration, involves the validation of supporting documents and capture biometrics information.
3. Finally, Step 3 involved the issuance of the PhilSys Number (PSN) and the physical ID (PhilID)

TO attain the goal of the PhilSys Program, all members of the Higher Education community, students and faculty members are enjoined to register for the Step 1 of the PhilSys by visiting https://register.philsys.gov.ph.

All students and HEI faculty, officials and staff are likewise encouraged to urge and assist their families and friends to also register.
To promote public awareness about the program, suggested activities of participation include the following:
1. Uploading and/or sharing of their registration experiences on personal or organizational social media accounts;
2. Sharing of information, education and communication materials on the PhilSys. The communication materials are accessible through this Google Drive Link: https://tinyurl.com/29a64jhf; and
3. Participating in the online campaign by uploading photos, news features and other information relative to the PhilSys campaign using the hashtag .
