As part of the 80th Feast Day Celebration of our patron, St. Thomas Aquinas, we warmly invite and humbly ask the support of the parishioners of Sogod and the people of Sogod for our Begging Day on January 27, 2026. Viva Santo Tomas!

The Begging Day is rooted in the Catholic mendicant tradition, especially in the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), to which St. Thomas Aquinas belonged. Mendicant orders practiced begging as an expression of humility, trust in Divine Providence, and solidarity with the poor, allowing them to dedicate themselves fully to teaching, preaching, and service to the Church.

In our context at STAC, this tradition becomes a form of community support and formation. Through our Begging Day, we humbly appeal to the generosity of the faithful and the people of Sogod as a way of sustaining our mission as a Catholic academic institution.

The slogan “Barya Mo, Paaralan Ko!” expresses its practical purpose — to raise additional funds for our school development, particularly for ongoing building construction and other institutional needs that support the formation of Thomasians.

Thus, the Begging Day is not only a reenactment of a Catholic practice, but also an act of solidarity, participation, and stewardship for the future of STAC.

In this spirit, we encourage all Thomasians to participate whole-heartedly in this initiative as part of our pastoral and human formation—learning to engage the community, to practice charity, and to deepen our identity as a Catholic academic institution.

May our shared support become an expression of faith, unity, and love for our school and for the mission of St. Thomas Aquinas. Viva Santo Tomas!

Saint Thomas Aquinas College will serve as one of the official venues and billeting areas for the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) to be hosted in the Municipality of Sogod.

In preparation for and throughout the duration of the activity, classes in all levels will shift to synchronous online mode from January 19–23, 2025 to allow participating delegates to use the school’s facilities and classrooms.

Students and teachers are advised to follow their adjusted class schedules and online meeting links as provided by their respective advisers and instructors.

On-site transactions at the school campus will be limited, and only authorized personnel are allowed inside during the event period.

Regular face-to-face classes will resume after the said dates.
