The official journey towards discipline, leadership, and service has officially begun! The 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 successfully conducted its 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐲 for 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 2026 - 2027 today, 16 August 2026, at the 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐒𝐮 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭.

The morning open at exactly 0700H as the new batch of cadets gathered at the covered court for their initial formation, headcounts, and briefing. Standing sharp and ready, the cadets were given an essential overview of the ROTC program, establishing the foundation of military discipline, duties, and core values expected of them throughout the academic year.

The lecture session featured key speakers who provided valuable insights to the cadets. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗹 𝗠 𝗔𝗹𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗮, 𝑁𝑆𝑇𝑃 𝐷𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟, delivered a comprehensive orientation on the program's vision, objectives, and overall frameworks. Following this, 𝗠𝗔𝗝 𝗞𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗥 𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗢 (𝗙𝗦) 𝗣𝗔, 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑡 shared a inspiring short message emphasizing leadership, service, and commitment to duty. Finally, 𝗦𝗴𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗚 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗣𝗔 (𝗥𝗲𝘀) provided an overall ROTC orientation and formally introduced the 𝖠𝖽𝗏𝖺𝗇𝖼𝖾𝖽 𝖮𝖿𝖿𝗂𝖼𝖾𝗋𝗌 alongside the 𝖢𝗈𝗋𝗉𝗌 and 𝖲𝗍𝖺𝖿𝖿.

The day was successfully accomplished under the supervision of 𝗖𝗽𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗚 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘇 (𝗜𝗻𝗳) 𝗣𝗔, 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑒𝑓 𝐶𝑙𝑒𝑟𝑘 𝑜𝑓 𝑆𝑜𝑟𝑆𝑢 𝑅𝑂𝑇𝐶𝑈, along with 1𝗟𝗧 𝗟𝗘𝗢 𝗕𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗣 𝗦𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗬 (𝗜𝗻𝗳) 𝗣𝗔, 𝑇𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑁𝐶𝑂, and 𝗠𝗔𝗝 𝗞𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗥 𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗢 (𝗙𝗦) 𝗣𝗔, 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑡 with the valuable help of the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝗚𝗠𝗔)

‎The 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 - 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 proudly took part in the celebration of the 43𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗠, 𝗣𝗔 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 by participating in the 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 10𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆.

‎Held on 15 August 2026 at the 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗕𝗠 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, the event carried the theme: "𝑨𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒈 𝒏𝒂 𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒈-𝒃𝒖𝒐 𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒂𝒂𝒏𝒈-𝒌𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒍." Cadets from the 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗻 and 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 joined hands with reservists and fellow cadets from 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗰. (𝗦𝗖𝗖𝗜) and 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (𝗦𝗜𝗧) along with various community partners to contribute to this life-saving cause.
‎
‎Through the collective effort of all volunteers, numerous blood bags were successfully collected to help patients in need of blood transfusions.

‎We believe that true leadership is shown through service to others. As the saying goes:

The 𝖠𝖽𝗏𝖺𝗇𝖼𝖾 𝖢𝖺𝖽𝖾𝗍 𝖮𝖿𝖿𝗂𝖼𝖾𝗋𝗌 of 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 successfully provided 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 during the 𝗣𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 held on 12 August 2026, at the Sorsogon State University - 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘢𝘨 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘴.

Under the leadership of 𝗖/𝗠𝗔𝗝 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗬 𝗢 𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗔 1𝗖𝗟 (𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒔 𝑬𝒙𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓), the cadets ensured a secure and orderly environment for the event. The unit maintained crowd control, monitored venue perimeters, and coordinated with student leaders to guarantee a safe, comfortable, and seamless celebration for the university's newest students.

Through their dedicated service and steadfast presence, the cadet officers allowed the freshmen community to enjoy an unforgettable evening of camaraderie, music, and fun with complete peace of mind.
