𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 |✨

Last May 14, 2026, 138 BS Midwifery students from Sorsogon State University together with their Program Chair and faculty members participated in an Orientation Seminar at Sorsogon Medical Mission Group Hospital & Health Services Cooperative as preparation for their upcoming clinical duties and Related Learning Experience (RLE).

The activity highlighted the importance of professionalism, patient safety, infection prevention, and compassionate care as the students prepare to enter real healthcare settings. With guidance from hospital personnel and faculty members, the future midwives were equipped with valuable knowledge and insights that will help them grow into skilled and responsible healthcare providers. 💜

Thank you, SYNAPSE, for allowing the SorSU Student Midwives’ Association to be part of this meaningful journey.

Batch Banyuhay, Midwifery Level 3A and 3B, is grateful for the opportunity to serve, learn, and connect with the community through the newly concluded SYNAPSE NutriMove.

This experience reminded us that midwifery is not only about caring for mothers and families, but also about extending compassion, health education, and hope to the wider community.

The 𝐍𝐑𝐂𝐏 is a collegial body of scientists and researchers under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) that promotes basic research and provides science-based advice on matters of national importance. Regular Members are elected, making membership both selective and recognition-based, awarded to individuals with demonstrated excellence in research, scholarly publications, and contributions to their respective fields. Being elected signifies that one’s work meets national standards of scientific merit and impact—making it a highly prestigious distinction in the Philippine research community.

With his inclusion, 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 now has seven (7) Regular Members of the NRCP:

Before this day officially ends, the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬’ 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 celebrates and honors the tireless dedication and perseverance of one and every Filipino Workers, who continues to contribute to the growth and progress of our nation. Their efforts, whether seen or unseen, continue to shape stronger communities and a better future for all.

To the 𝐤𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐬 whose hands welcome life into this world, who stay besides mothers during their great hour—we celebrate with you. You remind us that being in this field is not just a mere profession, but a burning passion.

𝐒𝐌𝐀 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

In celebration of World Health Day this April, the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬’ 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 conducted an outreach activity, held last April 21, 2026, by sharing free champorado with SorSU students and extending support to those affected by the fire in Almendras Cogon.

Our SorSU Lying-in Midwife, 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐏𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬, also led the distribution of donations to the fire victims, bringing comfort and care during a difficult time. Through this initiative, the spirit of service and care was truly felt, reminding us of the importance of standing together in times of need and of embodying compassion as healthcare professionals.

Kudos to the unwavering warmth and compassion of our future komadronas, whose service continues to make a difference in every life they touch.💜
