Let us welcome with open arms, the incoming! The 4th Pinning and Candle-lighting Ceremony of the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery!

I am____, a sophomore student from 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲. Today, I step forward into a new chapter filled with new experiences, new responsibilities, and of course— countless obstacles that will mold us to learn, grow, and become a better student midwife.
The 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞-𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 which will be held on 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, Guided by the theme, "𝓞𝓷𝓮 𝓜𝓲𝓵𝓵𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝓜𝓲𝓭𝔀𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓼", marks a meaningful moment in our journey. It is a reminder of how far we've come and the responsibilities that we are going to carry as student midwives. From here, our journey takes beyond the classroom and into realities of midwifery practice, we look forward to meeting mothers, caring for newborns, experiencing clinical practice, and witnessing the moment that makes midwifery a meaningful calling — 𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓭𝓫𝓲𝓻𝓽𝓱.
We know that the road ahead will bring foreign situations, challenging days, long nights, and lessons that cannot be learned from books alone. Through these experiences, we hope to develop not only our knowledge and skills, but also the patience, confidence, and compassion needed to become the midwives we aspire to be.
As we receive our pins, we accept the responsibility that comes with what we have learned and what we have yet to discover. As we light candles, may their flame remind us of the purpose that brought us here and guide us as we serve mothers, babies, and families with compassion and dedication.
This ceremony is more than just a celebration. Rather, it is a step toward experiences, responsibilities, and memories that will shape us as future midwives.
We may not know exactly what awaits us, but we look forward to every lesson, every challenge, every milestone, and every life we are privileged to handle along the way. And as we take this step forward, we carry a name that captures where we are in this journey: 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚 (𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟗)
𝘕𝘢𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢- It means 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨. In many ways, it reflects who we are at this point in our journey. Just like the lives we will one day help welcome into this world.
We may be at the beginning of our journey, but every experience will shape us into the midwives we aspire to become.
