The NSTP Unit of The Lewis College successfully conducted its annual orientation for freshmen for Academic Year 2026โ€“2027 at the TLC Sports Gym on July 30 and August 7, 2026.

The activity officially welcomed our incoming first-year students and prepared them for their duty toward civic consciousness and defense preparedness.

Beyond delivering essential program guidelines and legal frameworks, the two-day orientation fostered meaningful engagement and peer connection. Through an interactive 'Human Bingo' icebreaker, freshmen actively networked and built early camaraderie with their fellow classmates.

Anchored on the theme "Preparing Freshies for a Meaningful Journey of Service, Leadership, and Nation-Building through NSTP," the event set a strong foundation for our students' upcoming journey in community involvement, personal growth, and nation-building.

The said orientation is held annually in compliance with the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 9163 (NSTP Act of 2001) that requires Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to conduct an orientation at the start of the training period.

As part of The Lewis Collegeโ€™s drive to better serve Lewisians by providing holistic support through guidance and counseling, TLC endorsed the additional training of the Guidance Team led by Ms. Jessica Oh, Guidance Associate, to the successfully participated Two-Day Workshop on Guidance Associates' leadership and Intervention Training for Nurturing and Growth (GALING); and Guidance Assistance to the Youth Online (GAYON) held on August 4โ€“5, 2026 at the Proxy by The Oriental, Legazpi.

Facilitated by CHED Regional Office V in partnership with the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association (PGCA) Bicol Chapter, the eventโ€™s theme was "Empowering Guidance Associates as Champions of Student Well-Being and Lifelong Learning."

We extend our deepest gratitude to CHED Regional Office V, PGCA Bicol Chapter, and the Proxy by The Oriental, Legazpi, for organizing and facilitating this enriching and transformative training. The Lewis College proudly joined the Linggo ng Kabataan Celebration 2026, spearheaded by the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Sorsogon City, through the Little Boys and Girls Officials 2026 program held at the Session Hall, Sorsogon City Hall.

Representing the school were Jillian Dellosa, current SSLG president and Grade 12 ABM student, together with Hannes Wendel and Arnolfo Dolot, both Grade 10 students. They were accompanied by Eugene F. Galicio, BED Coordinator, who was present to support and guide the students throughout the activity.

Congratulations to Jillian for being elected Junior SK Federation President, and to Arn for being elected Junior Councilor for the West. Your leadership, dedication, and commitment to public service bring great pride to The Lewis College.

The Lewis College is pleased to announce that it will be offering the Trimester Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) for this Academic Year 2026-2027, now featuring two learning modalities to choose from: FACE-TO-FACE and ONLINE. This program serves as a dedicated pathway for graduates of non-teaching education degrees to qualify for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) by completing the required 18 units of professional education courses.

In strict adherence to Republic Act 7836 (The LET Law), the TLC TCP is built upon the foundational frameworks of CMO No. 30, s. 2004 and CMO No. 52, s. 2007, which prescribe the revised policies and standards for teacher education. Our curriculum further integrates the essential amendments of CMO No. 11, s. 2009 and the strengthened quality assurance guidelines of CMO No. 159, s. 2023.

Furthermore, the program is carefully aligned with PRC Resolution No. 24, s. 2022, ensuring that all coursework meets the updated requirements for examination applicants. The TLC TCP aims to help aspiring educators develop necessary teaching skills and acquire basic expertise in handling learners, providing a robust foundation for a successful career in the field of education.
