𝙅𝙐𝙎𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙎 𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂I UM Digos College and the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur ink an agreement of partnership and collaboration on the development of two (2) decision support systems. These are the Project ProWESS - which is the 1 Million DOST funded project under the Good Governance through Data Science and Decision Support System (GODDESS) program- and the Project PRIMeS. The beneficiaries of these two projects are the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital.

Present in the activity are Governor Yvonne Roña Cagas, SPAG Marc Cagas, PESO Head Mr. Rolly Impas, DDSPH Head Dr. Jonna A. Masongsong, the Board Members of the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur, School Director VP Dr. Tessie Miralles, ERAAO Coordinator Ms. Pearl Lettee Maunes, and the rest of the GODDESS Project ProWESS Team.

The event was witnessed by the employees of the Provincial Capitol.

UM-CGNIES is collecting spent rechargeable batteries for the DOST-Funded project entitled, “Development of Electrodialysis with Bipolar Membrane for the Simultaneous Recovery of Cobalt and Lithium from Waste Secondary Batteries.”

Collection bins are already placed at the visible entry and exit points in UM Main, Embassy, and Matina Campuses. Newsprints are also provided on the bins to properly wrap the spent rechargeable batteries to be disposed of. Installation of the collection points in the branches is scheduled in the succeeding weeks.

The project aims to address the drawbacks of current technologies by developing an alternative and economically viable technology to upcycle spent rechargeable batteries.
