Theโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Mainit Campus Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Unit held their 11th Training Day Formation successfully on December 6, 2025. It set a step farther in the process of instilling discipline, deepening core military skills, and developing leadership potential of the cadets involved.
The drill was led by 1LT Alan R Arado PA (RES) as the Assistant Commandant and SSG Rolliejoy T Banas (MI) PA as the Tactical NCO. Cpl Erne S Crisologo (Inf) PA as the Admin NCO, together with Graduate Military Assistants, Sgt Shena D Banuag PA (Res), Sgt Rose Mae B Bugtay PA (Res), Sgt Jorge B Arnigo PA (Res), (Res), Sgt Clide Dave C Dano PA(Res), and Sgt John Carl Soriano PA(Res) led the administrative support. The entire event was under the supervision of CPT Rene G Esma PA (RES), the Commandant of the SNSU Mainit ROTC Unit.
The formation was actually opened at 0700H with a prayer and roll call, a very important tradition that promotes among the cadets punctuality, responsibility, and preparedness. 344 in all, the total number of the cadets were found to be present counting 11 Second Class (2CL) officers,11 First Class (1CL) officers, and 5 GMAs, all cooperating for the fruition of the dayโs activities.The next five hours were filled with drills and ceremonial rehearsals for the cadets. They practiced a variety of marching drills from basic to advanced and executed numerous exercises for squad and platoon formation. They were also involved in a number of activities including:
Manual of arms, drills command voice, giving of commands synchronization and uniformity drills such drill exercises gave them discipline, confidence, teamwork, and coordination-they are not only very useful in the ROTC but also in academic pursuits, and future careers of the cadets.
The ROTC Comprehensive Examination has become another great focal point of the day where the evaluation of the cadets took place in military customs and courtesies, rank structures, leadership principles, first aid, emergency responses, and mastery of drills. This test promotes psychological readiness, critical thinking, and the worth of constant study practice-studies are the key that even an average college student cannot avoid.
Training formally ended with a closing formation and final remarks from the officers at 1200H. The cadets were given the reminder of discipline, respect, and continuous self-development through the lessons which they have learned today as they will be going to the next training. The event ended with the orderly dismissal of the cadets, which was in line with the unity and discipline that they had demonstrated during the whole โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโday.
