Paul University Surigao's college IT organization, JSIT, is situated in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT), with members from BSIT, BSCS, BLIS, and Diploma in IT. The Junior Society of Information Technologists, or JSIT, is built up of people taking IT-related programs in Saint Paul University Surigao, namely, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of

Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Library and Information Science, and Diploma in Information Technology. Vision: The Junior Society of Information Technologists committedly enacts itself as an organization that recognizes the adapting world of technology, fostering goodwill and unity from people of diverse backgrounds to aid oneself and others. Its main purpose is to assist its members in pursuing goals related to Information Technology, particularly through following the course curriculum and in the enlightenment of students in the industry of development, testing, and coding. Mission: The Junior Society of Information Technologists hopes to promote the value of Information Technology through social events, workshops, organize training skills, promote student community through providing services related to it, and to be inclusive of those interested in its innovations.

The 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 proudly congratulates the 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 from the Diploma in IT, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Library and Information Science programs as they graduated last April 25th.

Through years of dedication, they have shown 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, and an unwavering 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 to grow, not just in academics, but in life itself. Their journey at St. Paul University Surigao has shaped them into individuals ready to face the ever-evolving world, grounded in purpose and guided by the 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.

As 𝗖𝗘𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 2026 comes to an end, the members of the 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 have proudly showcased their immense talents through 𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆.

LOOK: JSIT and Computer Engineering students in 𝗔𝗜 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜

Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors from the IT program, together with their Computer Engineering peers, actively participated in AI Today: From Talking with AI to Building with AI, a hands-on training session held last March 26, 2026, at Computer Lab 1, SPUS Main Campus.

The session was led by Mr. Rolando Luib Lanugon, founder of Scinettek and DreamArchers, who guided students through the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. The training focused on AI-assisted development, highlighting cutting-edge tools and innovations that empower students to move beyond simply interacting with AI and toward building intelligent applications with it.

Through practical demonstrations and insights, participants gained valuable exposure to modern development workflows, enabling them to create applications more efficiently and productively. The event marked a significant step in equipping future IT professionals with the skills needed in today’s AI-driven world.

LOOK: The BSIT-4 students of St. Paul University Surigao are officially stepping out of the classroom and into the real world as they begin their On-the-Job Training (OJT). This new chapter will challenge them with real tasks, crucial responsibilities, and experience, which will shape them into future professionals of the IT industry.

The Junior Society of Information Technologists (JSIT) successfully hosted its Symposium and Program Marketing with the theme “Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in Educational Outputs” on October 22, 2025, at the Senior High School Conference Hall, SPUS Newsite.

Headlining the symposium was Mr. Leo Nicholas Zotomayor, JSIT Moderator, who delivered an insightful discussion on the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the quality and authenticity of educational outputs. His talk was followed by engaging presentations from representatives of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) programs — Joemar Varona and Ramcen Tiu, joined by Jay Ann Castro.

Following the symposium, the Program Marketing segment was launched, led by Sofia Tapia, JSIT President and BSIT representative, together with Jay Ann Castro, representing BLIS. Their presentations highlighted each program’s core competencies, career pathways, and relevance in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The BSIT students, through their participation in the TRON Cyber Defense Competition,” demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication by achieving 2nd and 8th place among the participants. 🏆

Team 1, consisting of Bryan Callipes, Dexter Requillo, Karl Satsat, and Jayson Dialde, proudly secured 2nd place, while Team 2, comprising Antoniette Lanuza, Kean Ocliaso, BC Edillor, and Augustine Comon, earned 8th place. 💻

Their achievement reflects the excellence and commitment of our department in the field of cybersecurity. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for bringing pride and honor to our institution. 👏💙
