💭📊 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

From the initial call for participants to the much-anticipated awarding of champions, the Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) 2026 has come full circle. Held at the ACB – Smart Classroom, the competition successfully brought together students who share a deep enthusiasm for data, analytical precision, and the art of critical thinking.

The event became a lively showcase of talent, where students proved their ability to think critically, work under pressure, and enjoy the thrill of competition. After an intense display of skill and determination, we proudly recognize the outstanding individuals who rose above the challenge:

🏆 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞: Octaviano, Christian Jade
🥈 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞: Boco, Princess Irish
🥉 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞: Petilla, Danica

As part of their achievement, the Top 1 and Top 2 finalists will advance to represent EVSU in the PSQ Provincial and Tacloban Elimination Round, where they will compete for a spot at the PSQ Regional Level.

Behind this achievement stands the unwavering support of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the EVSU – Statistical Society. Their dedication ensured that the competition was not merely a test of skills, but a meaningful platform to nurture young statisticians, connect them with peers, and prepare them for greater challenges ahead.

🧑‍🏫 Let’s continue to emphasize the importance of statistics in our daily life – not as an abstract number, but as a guiding factor for decisions, innovations and the search for knowledge that shapes communities and society in general.

𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗦, 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗠 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗦

Today, August 30, we observe National Press Freedom Day, honoring the journalists and media workers who pursue the truth, scrutinize those in power and put the public’s right to know at the heart of their work — keeping the press free and democracy alive. Because freedom does not exist when the truth is forced into silence.

The observance, held in honor of the birth anniversary of Marcelo H. del Pilar, the Father of Philippine Journalism, reminds us that journalism is more than simply reporting facts. Despite intimidation, censorship and threats, journalists continue to question, investigate and give voice to stories that matter.

We, The Industrial Wheel, reaffirm our commitment to truthful and responsible journalism, standing with every journalist and media worker in defending press freedom and upholding the truth. Because freedom flourishes when the people are informed.
