𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦 🏆

With Sportsfest 2026 just a month away, Holy Infant College of Tacloban City, Inc. (HICInc.) held its Team Meetings on August 14, bringing the four teams one step closer to the much-anticipated competition.

Held at the Bishop Gonzaga Hall (BGH) and the Venerable Catherine McAuley Hall (VCMH), each team was assigned a scheduled time for an organized and efficient meeting. The sessions included the selection of players for each sporting event, an important step in forming the teams and preparing for the upcoming competitions.

Candidates for Mr. and Ms. HICInc. Sportsfest 2026 were also selected, adding to the excitement and anticipation as the teams gear up for this year’s celebration.

With preparations officially underway, the road to Sportsfest 2026 begins in earnest—bringing with it the promise of camaraderie, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among all Misericordians.

Kabataan, Katuwang sa Pangangalaga ng Kalikasan at Tanglaw ng Kinabukasan💚

Masigabong idinaos ng Misericordia Children Center Inc. (MCCI) ang aktibidad na MELF Justice Project: RETHINK (Refuse a Throw-away Culture and Innovate Nature-friendly Knits), ACT NOW! (Acknowledging the Crisis to Transform and Nurture Our World) noong Agosto 12, 2026, sa Bishop Gonzaga Hall (BGH) ng Holy Infant College of Tacloban City, Inc. Kasama rito ang mga opisyal ng SSLG, gayundin ang mga pangulo at pangalawang pangulo ng bawat pangkat ng Basic Education Department.

Aktibong nakilahok at nakiisa ang bawat mag-aaral sa mga gawaing inihanda ng organisasyon. Tinalakay at iminungkahi nila ang mga karapatang dapat matamasa ng kabataan, lalo na tungkol sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan at sa mga paraan upang maiwasan ang malalang epekto ng mga kalamidad sa ating pamayanan.

Kasama ang mga tagapagtupad ng tungkulin (Duty Bearers) ng paaralan at mga Religious Sisters of Mercy (RSM), pinakinggan ang mga hinaing at napansing suliraning pangkapaligiran ng mga kabataan sa paaralan. Naglahad din sila ng mga mungkahi kung paano maaaring matugunan at malutas ang mga nabanggit na suliranin.

Sa kabuuan, naging makabuluhan ang aktibidad dahil nabigyan ang mga kabataan ng pagkakataong maipahayag ang kanilang mga saloobin at mungkahi para sa kalikasan. Ipinakita rin nito na mahalaga ang pakikiisa ng kabataan sa pagpapanatili ng malinis, ligtas, at maayos na kapaligiran.

Holy Infant College of Tacloban City, Inc. (HICInc.) student leaders from the College Supreme Student Council (CSSC) and Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) participated in the Institutional Leadership Training 2026, which took place on July 25 at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR).

The all-day program, which brought together officers from the Basic Education and College Departments, included activities and talks about leadership led by resource speaker Mrs. Noemi Agner. Enhancing the participants' leadership abilities, teamwork, and dedication to serving the student body were the main goals of the training.

Through the initiative, HICInc. continues to foster student leaders who are prepared to lead with responsibility, competence, and a strong spirit of service.

𝙄𝙉 𝙋𝙃𝙊𝙏𝙊𝙎 | Third and Fourth Day of Classes

The opening week continued as Misericordians took part in Duyog Palaro, explored new opportunities during the Club Orientation, organized their respective clubs, and elected officers who will help lead their organizations throughout the school year.

The following day began with the Holy Spirit Mass, followed by the Blessing of Classrooms, entrusting the school year to God's guidance. The celebration concluded with the vibrant Pasundayag 2026: Student and Teacher Showdown, where students and teachers shared the stage in a celebration of talent, creativity, and school spirit.

More than a series of events, the opening week reflected a community brought together by faith, participation, and shared experiences—setting the tone for the school year ahead.
