An officer does not officially assume the full responsibility of his office until he is duly installed. In the Knights of Columbus, this tradition reflects the importance of order, commitment, and accountability in service.

October 3, 2026 marked another milestone for the Msgr. Benjamin M. Bacierra Assembly #3867, as its elected and appointed officers were formally installed into the office for Fraternal Year 2026–2027.

The installation was administered by 𝙎𝙆 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙤 𝙀𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙨, District Master of the Ferdinand Magellan Province, District IX, with the presence of 𝙎𝙆 𝙏𝙚𝙤𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙤 𝘽. 𝙇𝙖𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙖, Vice Supreme Master/Past State Deputy.
The appointed officers were likewise inducted into their respective offices.

October 3, 2026 marked another milestone for Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Marasbaras Council 14447 as FOUR of our Brother Knights officially joined the ranks of the Fourth Degree during the 4th Degree Exemplification held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Abucay,Tacloban City.

With heart ready to serve and swords symbolizing the defense of faith and values, we proudly welcome:

The historic occasion was part of the 3-in-1 celebration of Msgr. Benjamin M. De Veyra ACN 3867, led by Faithful Navigator 𝙎𝙆 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙡 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙤 𝙋. 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙤 featuring the:

🇵🇭 Installation of Assembly Elected and Appointed Officers for FY 2026-2027.

Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Marasbaras Council 14447 held its regular monthly council meeting, presided over by Worthy Grand Knight 𝙎𝙆 𝙀𝙙𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙤 𝙎. 𝙏𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣 , with the COR Theme: “Mama Mary”, fittingly coinciding with the celebration of Rosary Month.

The Worthy Brothers first gathered for the Holy Eucharist, placing our meeting and all our plans under the guidance and intercession of Mama Mary.

A special moment of fraternity was also shared as we welcomed and congratulated our newly exemplified 4th Degree Sir Knight, 𝙎𝙆 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙤 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙖 . Welcome to the ranks of the Sir Knights!

𝘼 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙇𝙖𝙙𝙮!

On this first day of the Rosary Month, the faithful joyfully celebrated the 4th Day of the Novena in Honor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary and Feast Day of St. Therese the Child Jesus, a beautiful reminder of Mary’s call for us to draw closer to her Son, Jesus.

The Lay Eucharistic Ministry and the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Marasbaras Council 14447 served as the main sponsors of this day’s celebration, uniting in service and devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Before the Holy Mass, 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝙁𝙧. 𝙑𝙞𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙤 𝘾. 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤𝙜, 𝙎.𝙏𝙝.𝘿. shared a meaningful reflection on the importance of nurturing a devotion to our Guardian Angels, God’s faithful companions who guide and protect us in our daily journey of faith.

This was followed by the solemn Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, where the faithful experienced a sacred encounter with Jesus in moments of silence, prayer, and thanksgiving.

🌹 May this Rosary Month deepen our love for the Holy Rosary, strengthen our faith, and lead us ever closer to Christ through the intercession of Mary.

Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Marasbaras Council 14447 attended the 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 by 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝙁𝙧. 𝙁𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙭 𝙀𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙨, Exorcist Priest of the Archdiocese of Palo.

The series of talks on Angelology is sponsored by Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish, in collaboration with the Food for the Souls (FFTS) Committee—offering a deeper understanding of God’s angels, their role in our faith, and their significance in today’s timely situation.

Though Brother Sofronio had been less active with the Council in recent years, the bond of brotherhood never fades. We remember him, pray for him, and stand with his family in this time of farewell. We came not because of his activity, but because he was - and always be - our brother.

Before the meeting, there is always the Fraternal Mass.

Because for the Knights of Columbus, faith comes first, fraternity follows, and service flows from both.

The 3rd Regular Assembly Meeting of Msgr. Benjamin M. Bacierra ACN 3867 began with a Fraternal Mass coinciding with the Feast Day of St. Pio of Pietrelcina.

In his homily, 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝙁𝙧. 𝘾𝙞𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙮 𝘼. 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖 𝙄𝙄 shared the beloved words associated with Padre Pio:

“𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆, 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆.”

A simple reminder, yet a powerful guiding light for every Sir Knight—that in moments of uncertainty, we pray; in moments of difficulty, we hope; and in every mission, we trust God.

With 18 Sir Knights from different councils in attendance, the assembly meeting was presided over by 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙆 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙡 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙤 𝙋. 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙤.

Among the major agenda items were the forthcoming Installation of Assembly Officers and 4th Degree Exemplification on October 3, 2026. The vacant One-Year Trustee position was also filled through a special election, with 𝙎𝙆 𝙅𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙣-𝙖𝙤 elected to the post.

The gathering concluded with a simple lunch and fellowship—a reminder that beyond the baldric, beyond the title, and beyond the meeting, we remain brothers united in faith and service.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗘. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗.

𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗘, 𝗪𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗘.

What began as a gathering of men became something far greater - a celebration of faith, brotherhood, and a shared mission to serve.

On September 19, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, V&G Subdivision, Tacloban City, we witnessed the successful Charity, Unity, and Fraternity (CUF) Exemplification of the Knights of Columbus conducted by District V-79 led by the active, promising and District Deputy of the Year for Fraternal Year 2025 -2026 𝙎𝙆 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙡 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙤 𝙋. 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙤.

Today, new brothers did not simply gain a membership.
They gained a brotherhood.
They gained a mission.
They gained a family committed to walking together in faith and service.

Because in the Knights of Columbus,
𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 is not just giving.
𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 is not just standing together.
𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 is not just belonging.

It is choosing to serve together, pray together, and stand for one another.

✈️❤️ 𝗔 𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧… 𝗔 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗗.

He had some time to spare before his flight to Manila. When 𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣 𝙎. 𝙈𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙣, our Visayas State Deputy, learned from 𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙀𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤 𝙈. 𝙎𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙤 , Visayas State Advocate/Regional Coordinator that a Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries Training was being held morning of September 13, 2026 he asked if he could share an inspirational message with the participants.

And what a message it was.

For more than 30 minutes, 𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣. spoke—not merely as a State Deputy, but as a brother sharing lessons from the heart.

Four powerful things stood out and left a lasting impact on the Knights of Columbus leaders present—lessons that can guide us as we lead our districts and councils.

1️⃣ 𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙂𝙄𝙑𝙀𝙉𝙀𝙎𝙎 — 𝘼 𝙇𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙀𝙍 𝙈𝙐𝙎𝙏 𝙇𝙀𝘼𝙍𝙉 𝙏𝙊 𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙂𝙄𝙑𝙀. 🙏

As Knights of Columbus leaders, we should never allow anger and resentment to take root in our hearts.

𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣. shared the homily of 𝘽𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙅𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙎. 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙖 on three ways of forgiving:

🔹 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 — Forgive according to the offense, without allowing the hurt to become bigger than the relationship or the mission.

🔹 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮 — Bring the person and the pain to God. Pray for the grace to release the anger and allow God to heal the wound.

🔹 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙮 — Do not simply stop being angry; choose to move forward with a renewed heart, seeking peace and reconciliation.

A leader who cannot forgive will eventually be imprisoned by his own resentment.

2️⃣ ❤️ 𝙇𝙊𝙑𝙀 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙎 𝙄𝙉 𝙇𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙀𝙍𝙎𝙃𝙄𝙋

If COR reminds us of the Heart, 𝘼𝙈𝙊𝙍 reminds us of Love.

𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣 challenged every K of C leader to embrace 𝘼𝙈𝙊𝙍:

𝘼 — 𝘼𝙫𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮
A leader must make time for the council, the district, and most importantly, his brother Knights. Leadership requires presence.

𝙈 — 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣-𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙
Know the mission of the Order. Put it in your heart, live it in your mind, and demonstrate it through your actions.

𝙊 — 𝙊𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚
We are given only a limited time to serve as Grand Knight or District Deputy. Take the opportunity. Lead. Serve. Make it count.

𝙍 — 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮
The moment you accepted the position, you also accepted the responsibilities that come with it. Leadership is not merely a title—it is a commitment.

And then came 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙎:

𝙒 — 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙖 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙚
Do not merely walk with your members. Walk ahead and show them the way.

𝙄 — 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙊𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛
Do not lead from a distance. Immerse yourself in the life, activities, struggles, and mission of your council and district.

𝙉 — 𝙉𝙤 𝙇𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙩
Do not put a limit on what God can accomplish through a willing leader. Dream bigger. Serve better. Go farther.

𝙎 — 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣
Leadership needs prayer. Ask God for wisdom, humility, strength, and guidance. A praying leader becomes a stronger servant-leader.

❤️ 𝘼𝙈𝙊𝙍 + 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙎 = Leadership that serves with love and wins hearts.

3️⃣ 🙏 𝙇𝙀𝘼𝙍𝙉 𝙁𝙍𝙊𝙈 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝙐𝙋𝙍𝙀𝙈𝙀 𝙆𝙉𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏

𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣 also shared a deeply moving personal spiritual encounter with 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚 𝙆𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙀. 𝙆𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙮, who was appointed on August 25, 2026, by 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙋𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙤 𝙓𝙄𝙑 as a member of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life.

𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣 demonstrated how 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚 𝙆𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙀. 𝙆𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙮, gives reverence, respect, and adoration before the altar—kneeling, bowing his head, and humbly acknowledging the presence of God.

The lesson was simple but powerful:

If the Supreme Knight himself can humble himself before the altar, who are we not to do the same?

Leadership begins with humility before God.

4️⃣ 👨‍👩‍👧 𝙏𝙀𝘼𝘾𝙃 𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝘾𝙃𝙄𝙇𝘿𝙍𝙀𝙉 𝙏𝙊 𝙇𝙊𝙑𝙀 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝘼𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙎

𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣 also shared his encounter with the 7year-old daughter of 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚 𝙆𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙀. 𝙆𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙮.

When asked who her favorite saint was, the young girl immediately answered—and even explained why St. Clare was her favorite.

That simple encounter became a challenge to every Brother Knight:

Teach our children about the saints. Let them choose a favorite saint. Let them know their lives, their virtues, and their love for God.

Because faith is not only something we practice.

Faith is something we pass on.

✈️ 𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣 did not stay for the entire duration of the training. After delivering his inspirational message, having photos taken, and inducting the newly appointed officers, he immediately proceeded to the airport for his flight to Manila.

But although he left the venue, his message stayed.

More than 30 minutes of words became lessons on forgiveness, love, humility, responsibility, prayer, service, and faith.

Thank you, 𝘽𝙧𝙤 𝙊𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣, our Visayas State Deputy, for taking the time to inspire us—even before catching your flight.

You did not simply tell us how to lead.

You showed us how a Knight should lead—with 𝘼𝙈𝙊𝙍, with 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙎, with humility before God, and with a heart ready to serve.

As the new fraternal year begins, strengthening the leadership of the Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries is vital to building stronger, more effective, and more united councils.

District V-79 led by District Deputy 𝑺𝑲 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒆𝒍 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒐 𝑷. 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒐 together with the Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries were among the 65 participants of the training.

More than a training, it was a renewal of commitment to leadership, accountability, and service. As the new fraternal year unfolds, our leaders are reminded that leadership is not simply a position—it is a responsibility to serve our Brother Knights, our families, our Church, and our communities.

The newly Palo Archdiocese Appointed Officers were likewise formally sworn into office by 𝑩𝒓𝒐. 𝑶𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏 𝑺. 𝑴𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒏, Visayas State Deputy, marking a new chapter of dedicated service and faithful leadership.

From training rooms to the mission field, we prepare our leaders today so they can serve better tomorrow.
