๐ก๐๐ช๐ฆ ๐ก๐๐ฆ๐ง || 137 Engineering Students Don Hard Hats, Prepare for Field Deployment
TADIAN, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE โ A total of 137 junior and senior engineering students donned their safety gear during the 4th Hard Hatting Ceremony at the IPED Building, MPSU-Tadian campus, today, April 30.
The ceremony, themed "Hard Hats On, Futures Built," recognized 114 Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering students, 13 Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering students, and 10 Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering students. Accompanied by their parents and guardians, the students received their hard hats as a symbol of their transition from classroom theory to professional field practice.
Engr. Abdalla Mohammed Emad Mousad Ibrahim, an MPSU alumnus and Electric Quantity Surveyor at Crosslink Construction Corporation, challenged the students to remain inquisitive and vigilant during their training.
โTake this opportunity seriously. Be proactive. Ask questions. Learn from your supervisors and co-workers. Observe not only how things are done, but why they are done that way. Most importantly, prioritize your safety โ both for yourself and the people around you,โ Ibrahim stated.
He further urged the group to "wear your hard hats with pride โ but more importantly, wear them with purpose."
Representing University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, VP for Administration and Finance Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo emphasized the unique identity of the trainees as homegrown professionals. He noted that the students are being formed as "engineers for the Cordillera" who understand the intersection of culture, land, and community strength.
The event featured messages from two parent representatives who offered advice to the aspiring engineers before the program concluded. Following the ceremony, the students are expected to begin their immersion in various construction and engineering firms to fulfill their academic requirements.
