Today, the HNU College of Law welcomed the highest number of applicants ever for its Qualifying Test, a hopeful sign that many still choose the path of justice, service, and leadership. Praying many of them will qualify! 🙏🏻🥰

Congratulations HNU-College of Law for having been granted another extension to offer the Refresher Course this school year 2026-2027!

We are the only law school in Bohol granted such authority to offer the Refresher Course! Enrol na kayo! 💚💛

NEW ISSUANCE: The Legal Education Board (LEB) hereby publishes the Memorandum Circular No. 003, Series of 2026 for the list of Legal Education Institutions (LEIs) duly authorized to offer the Refresher Course.

The LEB reminds all concerned that subjects taken in a refresher course from a legal education institution not included in the aforementioned list shall not be recognized by the Legal Education Board.

Accordingly, pursuant to LEBMC No. 20, s. 2025, or the 2026–2027 Calendar of Compliance for LEIs, all applications for authority to offer the Refresher Course Program must be filed within the prescribed deadlines, as follows:

• April 30, 2026 — for institutions with a June start of the academic year
• May 29, 2026 — for institutions commencing in July
• June 20, 2026 — for institutions with an August opening
• July 31, 2026 — for institutions with a September start

From hooding rites to graduation day, the journey of our 28 Juris Doctor graduates of the Holy Name University College of Law is a story of perseverance, discipline, sacrifice, and faith.

Behind every hood and diploma are years of balancing work, family, public service, sleepless nights, recitations, exams, and countless prayers. Today, they celebrate not only academic achievement, but the courage to continue despite every challenge along the way.

The Holy Name University College of Law held the Dean Mumar Lecture 2026, gathering the HNU law students, members of its faculty, and other members of the legal community for a meaningful exchange of ideas.

Featuring Former Supreme Court Associate Justice Adolfo S. Azcuna as the distinguished lecturer, one of the framers of both the Freedom Constitution and the present 1987 Constitution, the discussion centered on “Impeachment and the Preservation of Constitutional Order.”

The event was also attended by members of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), students from the HNU Political Science program, and representatives from other law schools in Bohol, including the University of Bohol and BIT International College, reflecting a strong spirit of academic collaboration and shared commitment to legal excellence.

At a time when democratic institutions are continuously tested, the lecture proved both timely and timeless, addressing present day challenges to governance while reaffirming the enduring principles of accountability, constitutional supremacy, and the rule of law. It served as a powerful reminder that while circumstances evolve, the foundations of justice must remain steadfast.

As an academic exercise, the lecture inspired reflection and responsibility among future members of the legal profession to understand the law and to defend it with integrity and purpose.

The College of Law extends its sincere appreciation to all who made this event a success.
