Bohol Island State University invites all faculty members and office personnel to submit original literary works for publication. This initiative seeks to curate high-quality literary works that will enrich the university’s literacy programs, foster a strong culture of writing, research, and publication, and strengthen the community of BISU writers. By participating, you can contribute to a vibrant platform that celebrates creativity, scholarship, and the transformative power.
The following guidelines should be adhered.
1. The submission is open to all faculty members and office personnel of BISU.
2. The file name should indicate the category and title of the work (e.g., Flash Fiction_Binisaya_The People).
3. The call for submission has five (5) categories: Children’s Story, Essay, Poetry, Short Story, and Flash Fiction. Entries may be written in Binisaya, Tagalog or English.
4. A participant may submit only one (1) entry per category.
5. Each entry must be original, unpublished (print or online), 0% AI-generated, and 0% similarity index, and must not have won in any previous competition or be planned for publication in any institution. If proven otherwise, the entry will be automatically disqualified.
6. There is no word count limit.
7. Only the title of the entry and its content should appear in the Word document. No names or pen names of participants should appear in the document.
8. Entries must be submitted in .doc (Microsoft Word) format and must follow these specifications: a. Single-spaced b. Arial font c. Font size 11 d. One-inch margins on all sides e. Page numbers centered at the bottom of each page (e.g., 1 of 2, 2 of 2)
9. All the following information must be completed in the Google Form: a. Full name, campus, college, Title of work, Genre, Contact number, and Brief biography (bio-note). Rest assured that all personal information will remain confidential.
10. Submitting the same work with revisions and/or replacing a submitted entry with another work is not allowed. The first email received by IMDC BISU from a participant will be considered final and the official entry. Participants are advised to carefully review their work before clicking the “Send” button.
11. Strict adherence to these guidelines is required. Non-compliance will automatically disqualify the entry.
