HNU - College of Health Sciences The official page of the Holy Name University College of Health Sciences - Local Government Unit.

The College of Health Sciences was formerly known as the College of Nursing, which had its humble beginnings in 1985 when the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports granted the then Divine Word College of Tagbilaran approval to offer the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Since that time, the college has produced competent nurses whose expertise in health care is recognized not only in th

e province nor in the Philippines but also abroad. In 2013, Holy Name University pioneered the offering of the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology program in Bohol. With academic excellence at its core, this addition aimed to address the growing demand for healthcare professionals in the community. As two health-related programs were now housed in one academic unit, the College of Nursing was renamed the College of Health Sciences in 2015. In 2021, the college expanded further with the opening of its latest programโ€”the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technologyโ€”a testament to its commitment to providing comprehensive health sciences education responsive to current industry needs. Today, the College of Health Sciences consists of the Department of Nursingโ€”granted Level II PAASCU accreditationโ€”alongside the Department of Medical Technology and the Department of Radiologic Technology. The college ensures effective student training through highly competent faculty members and state-of-the-art facilities, continuing its mission of producing skilled, compassionate, and globally competitive healthcare professionals.
