The Center for Research and Publication of Taguig City University successfully conducted the Focus on Research Webinar Series #10 on November 5, 2025, via Google Meet. The session, titled “The Role of Research in the Model Merit Systems for Faculty Members of State Universities and Colleges and Local Colleges and Universities in relation to CSC Memorandum Circular No. 19, Series of 2005,” highlighted the importance of research in faculty development and career advancement.

Dr. Juan C. Birion, TCU Consultant and former Vice President for Student Services of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, served as the Resource Speaker. He discussed how institutional research initiatives can be aligned with the Civil Service Commission’s merit system to ensure that research achievements are properly recognized in faculty evaluation and promotion processes.

A special message was delivered by Dr. Anthony Greg F. Alonzo, LPT, President and Chairman of the Board of ISTREL, while Prof. Xeres Yvonne O. Quimora, MPA, Research Coordinator of the College of Arts and Sciences – BPA, moderated the session.

The webinar was open to the public.
