Jose Rizal Memorial State University Tampilisan Campus (JRMSU-TC) paid tribute to its retiring personnel through a โ€œCelebration of Service and Legacyโ€ on September 4, 2026, commemorating their years of dedicated service and lasting contributions to the university.

Carrying the theme โ€œYears of Service, Memories to Treasure,โ€ the celebration brought together retirees, university officials, employees, colleagues, and family members to commemorate the contributions and enduring impact of those who dedicated part of their lives to serving the university.

The program opened with a prayer led by Ms. Cherry Janel C. Bagarinao, followed by welcome remarks from Dr. Rovelito L. Narita, President, T and E Association

The highlight of the event was the tribute to the retirees, where each honoree was formally recognized for their years of service. Following every recognition, different colleges and academic units rendered tribute presentations dedicated to the retirees, adding a personal and heartfelt dimension to the celebration.

The College of Computing Studies opened the series of presentations with a tribute following the recognition of Mr. Moises O. Gallon. The College of Agriculture and Forestry then rendered tributes for Mr. Mauro C. Cajocon and Mr. Ruben G. Quinlob, celebrating their service and contributions to the institution.

The College of Teacher Education followed with a tribute presentation for Dr. Diego L. Mansanedez, while the School of Engineering honored Mr. Pacifico B. Suico Jr. through its presentation.

Meanwhile, CLAMS rendered a tribute for Mr. Glicerio Banse, followed by SCJE, which presented a tribute for Mr. Aniceto G. Malang Sr. The recognition continued with Mr. Marion G. Baquiller, accompanied by a tribute and testimony commemorating his years of service.

The celebration also remembered retirees who had passed away through a posthumous recognition for Mr. Efren Rodriguez. A tribute and testimony were followed by a response from his family, represented by Mr. Erson A. Rodriguez, highlighting the personal impact of his life and service beyond the workplace.
Adding an emotional touch to the occasion, a musical tribute featuring โ€œThe Yearsโ€ was performed by Ms. Mary Glez B. Behiga, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the deceased retirees.

Beyond the formal recognition, the celebration served as a reminder that retirement does not mark the end of a person's contribution to an institution. Rather, it represents the beginning of a legacy carried forward through the memories, values, and lessons shared with colleagues and the generations they served.

The program continued with an inspirational message from Dr. Dana Faye T. Salundaguit, followed by the rendition of โ€œDonโ€™t Forget to Remember Meโ€ by the College of Teacher Education as another tribute to the honorees.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Benjie B. Camilo, Administrative Officer V, followed by a photo opportunity with the retirees, families, university officials, and colleagues.

A dinner and fellowship capped the celebration, allowing members of the university community to gather beyond the formal program and share memories with the retirees.

Through the Celebration of Service and Legacy, JRMSU-TC paid tribute not only to the years of work completed by its retirees but also to the people, relationships, and institutional memories they leave behindโ€”reminding the university community that dedicated service may end with retirement, but its legacy continues to live on.

To prepare visiting lecturers for effective and meaningful academic service, the Human Resource (HR) Office of Jose Rizal Memorial State Universityโ€“Tampilisan Campus (JRMSU-TC) spearheaded an Orientation and Onboarding Program for Visiting Lecturers for Academic Year 2026โ€“2027 on August 28 at the JRMSU-TC Function Hall.

The orientation served as an avenue to formally welcome the visiting lecturers and familiarize them with the universityโ€™s policies, academic procedures, institutional guidelines, and expectations governing their engagement with the campus.

The activity also aimed to ensure that the visiting faculty members have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities, particularly in delivering quality instruction and upholding the standards and values of JRMSU.

Through the onboarding program, the HR Office emphasized the importance of establishing a strong foundation for collaboration between the visiting lecturers and the university community. The initiative likewise provided an opportunity for the lecturers to raise concerns, clarify academic matters, and gain a better understanding of the systems and processes they will encounter throughout the academic year.

The orientation reflects JRMSU-TCโ€™s commitment to providing faculty members with the necessary support and institutional guidance as they contribute to the universityโ€™s mission of delivering quality and accessible higher education.

As the new academic year unfolds, the visiting lecturers are expected to bring their expertise, experience, and dedication to the classroom, further enriching the learning experiences of JRMSU-TC students.

TAMPILISAN, Zamboanga del Norteโ€” The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed and turned over the first phase of a โ‚ฑ14.8-million academic building to Jose Rizal Memorial State Universityโ€“Tampilisan Campus (JRMSU-TC) on Wednesday, August 12, adding three classrooms to the campus.

The turnover ceremony was held in ZNAC, Tampilisan, with university officials, faculty and staff members, contractor representatives, and other stakeholders in attendance.

The Phase 1 project cost โ‚ฑ14,875,072.16 and was contracted to FJ Construction & Enterprises. It was implemented from an initial DPWH allocation of โ‚ฑ30 million.

The completed portion includes three classrooms on the upper floor and separate restroom facilities for male and female users.

The additional rooms will primarily serve the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), including its Forestry and Agribusiness Management programs. Other academic programs may also use the classrooms.

Dr. Isaias B. Catian, Dean of CAF, delivered the opening remarks during the ceremony.

Representatives of FJ Construction & Enterprises delivered a message before formally turning over the completed facility to JRMSU-TC.

University Accountant Mr. Eder E. Cayongcong accepted the facility on behalf of JRMSU President Dr. Maria Rio Abdon Naguit.

The university will provide the classrooms with basic furnishings and chairs before they are placed into regular use.

Campus Director Dr. Dana Faye T. Salundaguit said the new classrooms would help address the campusโ€™s existing shortage of instructional spaces.

โ€œThese three classrooms will help us address the shortage of our classrooms, particularly in the College of Agriculture,โ€ Salundaguit said.

She added that other academic programs could also use the facility.

The building remains unfinished, with Phase 2 dependent on the availability of additional funding.

Salundaguit said the university hopes to secure funding to complete the remaining portion of the two-storey structure.

The completion of Phase 1 gives JRMSU-TC additional classroom capacity while the campus continues to address its need for instructional facilities.
