๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ฒ๐ญ๐ | ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐, ๐๐๐๐ โ In a significant step toward revitalizing one of the University's specialized learning facilities, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU)โTanauan Campus conducted a comprehensive technical assessment of its existing Ceramics Laboratory.
The assessment was spearheaded by Engr. Rodrigo V. Dejeto, PMatE, Assistant Professor VI of the University of the Philippines Tacloban College, who served as the invited technical expert and resource person. Through his expertise, the University's existing ceramics facilities, equipment, and laboratory infrastructure were thoroughly evaluated to determine their current condition and identify priority areas for improvement.
The initiative was led by Dr. Rose Anna L. Refuerzo, Campus Director, whose vision to rehabilitate and modernize the Ceramics Laboratory paved the way for the technical assessment. Assisting in the initiative was Dr. James R. Pedrera, Head of the Office of Research and Innovation, who coordinated the activity in support of the University's research and innovation agenda.
During the assessment, Dr. Ramelito R. Paler, Head of the Technology Department, presented the historical development of the Ceramics Laboratory and highlighted its significant role in the University's academic programs and in preserving the pottery-making heritage of the Municipality of Tanauan. Select faculty members from the Technology Department also participated in the activity by assisting in the inspection and providing technical information regarding the laboratory's existing facilities, equipment, and instructional operations.
The results of the technical assessment will serve as a critical basis for the University's planning, budgeting, and resource mobilization initiatives for the rehabilitation and modernization of the Ceramics Laboratory. The recommendations generated from the assessment are likewise expected to guide future developments that will strengthen the University's capacity to deliver quality instruction, advance research and innovation, and expand community extension programs through a modernized ceramics facility.
This initiative reflects EVSUโTanauan Campus' continuing commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the preservation of the municipality's rich pottery-making tradition by providing students and the community with a laboratory that meets contemporary educational and industry standards.
