The Commission on Student Elections (COMSELEC) proudly invites everyone to the 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 for 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 of North Eastern Mindanao State University.

Heads up, NEMSUans!

Based on the issued Office Memorandum No. 05-009-2026 from the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, please be guided by the following reminders during the Final Examination period:

1. Students may wear decent civilian clothes.
Because of the current weather conditions, students are allowed to wear proper and decent civilian attire instead of the complete school uniform while inside the university premises.

2. Student ID is still required.
Even if students are allowed to wear civilian clothes, everyone must still wear and present their official student ID upon entering and while inside the campus.

3. Off-campus activities and travels will be limited.
During the Final Examination period, student participation in off-campus travels, competitions, trainings, activities, and similar engagements will be limited so that students can focus on preparing for and taking their exams.

However, activities may still be allowed if they are considered highly necessary and are properly authorized.

All NEMSUans are encouraged to follow these guidelines for everyone’s safety, welfare, and academic preparation.

The College of Accountancy – Tandag Campus is now accepting applications for incoming first-year college students for School Year 2026–2027.

𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝:

May 11 to May 22, 2026

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 (𝐁𝐒𝐀)

In line with the University’s commitment to academic excellence and the rigorous preparation required for the accountancy profession, admission to the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) program should be selective, merit-based, and subject to limited slot availability.

For the initial implementation of the program, only forty (40) students shall be admitted per academic year, subject to faculty availability, facilities, and institutional capacity.

𝐈. 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐘 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒

Applicants must comply with all general admission requirements of the University, including:
● Duly accomplished Student Admission Form
● High School Report Card/ALS Card
● Certificate of Good Moral Character
● PSA Birth Certificate
● Medical Certificate
● Entrance Examination Result
● Recent 2x2 ID Pictures

𝐈𝐈. 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐁𝐒𝐀

To qualify for admission to the BSA program, applicants must satisfy the following admission requirements:

𝐀. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Applicants must have:
● General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 90%.
● No final grade lower than 85% in Mathematics and English-related subjects

Applicants with stronger academic preparation in business-related, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and quantitative subjects shall be given priority during screening and ranking.

For shiftees, transferees, and second-courser applicants, they must comply with the admission requirements, subject to the evaluation of the Dean of CoA and/or the Program Chair of BSA.

𝐁. 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

All applicants must take and pass the University Admission Test.

To be considered for admission to the BSA program, an applicant must obtain: A score of 100 points and above out of the total 170 items of the Admission Test.

The test shall cover the following subject areas:
● English – 60 items
● Mathematics – 30 items
● Science – 45 items
● Abstract Reasoning – 35 items

Applicants with 85% in Mathematics and English shall be given priority during ranking.

𝐂. 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰

Applicants who meet the academic and admission test requirements shall undergo a qualifying interview to assess:
● Communication skills;
● Academic preparedness;
● Motivation and commitment to pursue Accountancy;
● Professional attitude and discipline; and
● Readiness for the demands of the BSA program.

The qualifying interview shall be conducted by the Dean of the College of Accountancy and/or the designated BSA Screening Committee, which may include the Program Chair, Accountancy faculty members, and other authorized academic personnel. The Screening Committee's decision regarding admission shall be final, subject to existing University policies.

𝐈𝐈𝐈. 𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the BSA program.

Qualified applicants shall be ranked based on the following criteria:
● Qualifying Interview – 20%
● Admission Test Score – 30%
● Senior High School Academic Performance – 50%

Only the Top Forty (40) applicants with the highest overall ranking shall be admitted. In case of ranking ties, priority shall be given to applicants with higher Mathematics and English scores in the Admission Test.

𝐈𝐕. 𝐍𝐎𝐍-𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements for BSA may be advised to enroll in other business-related degree programs offered by the University, subject to existing admission policies.
